Quick question for anyone out there with long memories. Was watching Middlesboro's game last night on Five (useless bastads didnt even mention the Shels result which is why i even watched it...) Got talking to a QPR supporter who remembers QPR on a tour of Ireland in the eighties, (when Guiness were their sponsors) they played Longford Town, and Drogheda. Anyone remember the game?

Pauro, wasn't at the game, but I believe it took place around the mid-80s, in Abbeycarton. I remember seeing a programme for the game a few years back.

I was at the game but can't remember the year, maybe 85? QPR won 3-0 from what i remember. I think they were in the top division at the time but i can't remember any big names playing for them.

that could be around the time, QPR were pretty much top dog of the London clubs then, and they had a big network of Irish scouts at the time, apparantly they had quite an Irish fanbase too. Cheers, got talking to some bloke who remembers the game well, just seeing did such a game take place!

Was at that game. Think it was 1985 but could have been '86. QPR were massive back then. Too young to remember if any of their big name players were involved. They won handy enough.

I was at that game. All i remember is every time they had a throw, the chap taking the throw would shout out "BLUE BALL". I seem to remember doing a doubletake to see if the ball actually was blue. :o I think Alan Mullers Mullery was the manager at the time.
