I'm getting a free jersey from gamebookers.com and they e-mailed to say it would be available on the 1st October. If I had a choice I'd go for the white one but I'd say they'll send me the green.

Am I the only one who thinks we should use white as our home kit? Its much nicer.

I imagine we'll wear white in Paris again since the French play in blue.
We played in white the last time we were away to Cyprus.

Green is our colour though.

Is that just Ireland, or the UK as well?

Both, I'd imagine.
Can't be sure though.
I have purchasing officers in both trading zones though :D

I also emailed the FAI my question, I know what was i thinking but amazingly enough received a reply on Friday

"The kit will be available in October but we do not have a date yet"

So there you have it.
Peadar , are u prepared to reveal your sources?

Ireland's matches in white at major tournaments:

Holland - Ireland 1988
Italy - Ireland 1990
Mexico - Ireland 1994
Holland - Ireland 1994
Spain - Ireland 2002

In Green:

Ireland - Engerland 1988
Ireland - Soviet Union 1988
Ireland - Holland 1990
Ireland - Romania 1990
Ireland - Italy 1994
Ireland - Cameroon 2002
Ireland - Germany 2002

I can't remember what colour we were in against Egypt (1990) and Norway (1994), but considering how ****e we played in those matches I'd venture it was white.

If anything, we are cursed when we play in white. Our away colour should be very very light green! :D

We wore white against Egypt and I think we wore green against Norway.
Considering how we played against Switzerland, the white jersey should be scrapped. The only good performance in white in recent times was away to Holland in the Amsterdam ArenA. White jersies are to Ireland as grey jersies are to ManUre.

I'll say again ...we wore white against Holland in 1990 WCF
We also wore white when we thumped our northern cousins* 0-4 in Beal Feirste in Nov 94. the 1-1 draw you mention was Nov 93.

*to quote from their unofficial anthem "We're Not Brazil .."
"We've shown the Scots and English and the Beggars (that's us folks  ) what we can do" Indeed they did. they showed us they can tip their toes and take four up the hole at home. :D

Two handy results in White you omit.

Definitely wore white v Holland and Egypt in 1990.

i was at the Norway game in 94 but cannot remember what colour shirts we wore. Sad. Dreadful game - should have murdered them by half time but ended up hanging on a little for the draw to get through.

This is what gamebookers told me 2 weeks ago:

I have added you to the shirt list, and look forward to supplying it when they become available (1st of October, I have been told by Umbro today).
