I think we'll win as well, but they might sneak one. 2-1 to Ireland. Morrison and a Frei own goal (OK I know he's not playing, but it'd be cool :D )

Might have to settle for a draw tonight. My head says 1-1 (us scoring first and then sitting on it) but my heart says 0-2 (us scoring first, them having a go and us having the guts to catch them out and finish them)
C'mon the lads!

It's a tough game to call.Personally,I think Irish fans are getting carried away with the performance on Saturday. We have to remember that the opposition were awful.Switzerland beat a similarly poor Faroes team 6-0.I actually believe that we will get a draw tonight or else we will lose.My reasons for these views are the simple facts that we have not won a competitive game away from home against a reasonably strong team in years.I heard it mentioned somewhere that Scotland in Hampden in a Euro qualifier in 1987 was the last such victory against reasonably strong opposition.17 years is an incredible length of time.Home advantage is a big thing in football and if we were at home to the Swiss I would be confident of victory tonight. We have to remember that we were well beaten here less than a year ago and while I accept that we are a better side now than we were then,I'd still be happy if we avoided defeat tonight.Wouldn't it be fantastic to end the 17 year sequence with a win tonight though!!Eire Abu!!

I would take a draw now, but I think we might just have too much going forward and with a settled centre back pairing, it's going to be tough for the Swiss to get into us.

2-1 to Ireland. I think Ireland with the two Keane's, Duff, Reid and two full strength centre backs will be too much for an average side like Switzerland.
Robbie will score first, then Yakin will score with a free kick and then Roy will get a winner in the 75th minute. :D

2-0 to the Swiss. The more I think about it the more I realize how poor we are. We didn't look that good against a truly awful team. Vonlathen is very fast and seems to be scoring for fun at the moment. The Swiss play solid, continental football and seem more than confident of beating us.

I only seen Vonlathen play once but he can't be very good if he can't make the PSV bench even after they sold Robben, Kezman and Rommedahl.

I think we'll do well tonight. The Swiss are not that good a team.
This will be a very different Irish team to the one's they've played before.
I think if we can play in the same patient and counter-attacking fashion that we played against Holland we'll do well.

Vonlathen has scored 3 in 19 PSV and as Eirebhoy said doesn't even make their bench most of the time. Lets not get carried away with a Hat trick against the Faores. I always ere on the side of pessimism always but we have probably the best chance ever of beating them with there absentees. No Alex Frei, Marco Streller and Daniel Gygax. Are Wicky and Spycher fit?

No, apparently they're out.
They've lost a few experienced players after Euro2004, their Star man is warming the bench at Stuttgart (but then I guess they'll look and say Duff and Keane have only played an hour of league football between them)
To be honest my feeling right now..
a loss would be a disaster
a draw would be a major disappointment
a win is what I'm expecting
2-1 Ireland

I hope its not 0-0 with 30 minutes remaining..I'll have no nails left! They tend to get a bit careless in the last half hour as in "heres the ball my friend, have a shot while theres still time".
If its 0-0 after 60 minutes I predict a victory for Switzerland, otherwise I think we'll get a score draw.
But heres hoping for "Swiss Rolled!" headlines Thursday morn! :D

Lads we'll win tonight and by two just for good measure. To me a draw will be like a defeat. I will be very, very, very surprised if the Swiss win I just dont think they'll fancy it to much.
Take Ireland on the handicap, ;)
with Bosnia on the handicap, ;)
and Turkey on the handicap. ;)
You should come on with a tidy profit.

With France not looking that good at the moment, if we win tonight we could be dangerous in this group.
There still is a lot to be said for playing the French first or second game and trying to catch them cold, but this is our crunch game I suppose - anything against the French is a bonus.
I'm well up for this one now, too ill to go down the pub, but come on Ireland!

commentary studio guy was ok, he kept sayin 'we' to kinsella. although fair play, for once an englishman got it right tho, he said 'here are the results of the home nations and ireland' or somethin along that line
always grates on me when irelands included in the home nations tag

He's actually Irish.
Kinsella was really playing down our chances the jealous ...person. Did you see when they paused Robbie's offside claim for the goal? It was clearly onside and Kinsella just ignored it. Paul said "they look onside to me" and Kinsella just said "ah well".

Bloke on BBC News channel just said "So at least all the Home Nations didn't lose!" with a big grin which said "England was the only home team that won!"
