Sid Lowe has been running somewhat of a campaign on Twitter to save the club.

On OTB some listeners have text in saying that they have bought shares in the club to help.

Is there no end to the embarrassing Barstoolism of the Irish "fan"?

NB. I am guessing as a regular listener to the show that I would hazard a guess that none of the recent Irish collapses registered on the radar of anyone who bought a share in Oviedo.

Why do you say that? It's hardly 'Glory-hunting'...

Barstooling isn't about glory-hunting. It's about being beholden to the entertainment product of the television leagues while remaining blissfully unaware or downright disdainful of the football on their doorstep.

Who needs Abramovic when they've got SkStu.

Precisely CD. PRescisely.

I'm not criticising Sid Lowe and I have a lot of time for him it should be noted. He comments on Spanish Football and he should be alerting people to the near-death of Oviedo but Christ-on-a-bike.

Hucknall Town are looking for donations to save the club. I think this would be a good project for Irish football fans.

If Goal is a good beer, it might be tempting.
