Terms and conditions:

For new customers only.

Open an account and make at least 5 bets before the end of October (minimum €100 total). Then email freeshirt@gamebookers.ie with your username and preferred shirt size and we will send you the new official Ireland soccer shirt absolutely free. Offer subject to availability. Shirts will be sent to eligible recipients when they become available. Offer applies to customers who open an account in September-October 2004 and make at least 5 bets totalling a minimum of €100.

I assume most of us will be buying the new Ireland jersey. Stick E48 on both France and Romania, and a few smaller bets to brong the total over E100. France and Romania won't both lose to the terrible opposition they face but if one does lose you are still only paying the price of a jersey. If, as likely, they both win you get a free shirt. :)

yes, but chances are that you can win some more or at least break even.
Bet on France to win tonight against the Faroes, and you won't lose any money (not that you'll gain much either though ;) )

could be worth it for a free shirt

Just a little sidenote in the rules for getting the free shirt:

In the Terms & Conditions section of Gamebookers it says:
NB:No more than €50 of the initial minimum €100 can be bet on odds-on events (i.e. events with odds under 2.0 in decimals) to qualify for the free shirt promo.

So if u bet heavily on France and Romania, this wont count as they are both odds on. U'll just have to spread your bets a bit more.

Also is it an Ireland T-shirt or Jersey????

I actually didn't see that when I registered with gamesbookers so I got an e-mail saying I had to spend another E45 on non-odds on events to claim the shirt. I e-mailed them back (Eddie Lee) and he said they only added the above part yesterday afternoon so I might have missed it when I registered. He was a very nice man and due to the sunny weather in Sligo ( :) ) he said he'll send me an Ireland shirt when they become available.

I'm sticking with gamebookers for the rest of my life after that nice gesture.

Romania won 5-1 BTW so France is all thats left and they're winning 1-0 at HT. :)

Gamebookers give you small bit back with each bet so for my lonhg short 160/1 effort i got 3c back yesterday. Nice 4/5 five match banker accumlator wiped out my other loses too.

I joined them maybe a week too soon...

Pete, any idea why they gave me E10 cashback? They just deposited it into my a/c for no obvious reason.

Also, do i have to wait until I get my credit card statement to withdraw money?

I think they some sort of cashback thing for first bet??? Maybe some details on site. Maybe you bet €100 or something

I haven't withdrawn money from gamebookers but did with PP before & could do at anytime, they just debited CC a/c with value...

Yeah, I bet the E100 on France and Romania to get the free jersey.

I get the following message when i try to withdraw funds:

On 07 SEP 2004 you deposited EUR 101.00 via MASTERCARD to your betting account.
We did not debit the full amount from your credit card but debited instead a random amount between EUR 100.00 and EUR 100.99.
We now ask you to confirm this amount to verify your identity and protect your account’s integrity.

Not 100% but as far as I know this is a common anti-money laundering security feature used by a lot of sites these days. It helps confirm that the person who used the credit card is actually the person who pays the bills.
