Just want to point people to this website article (http://www.corkcityfc.net/home/2012/10/30/doing-it-for-themselves-irish-football-fans-to-gather-in-cork/) which tells of a conference entitled, ‘The Heart of the Game – Why Supporters are vital to Football’, the first event of its kind in Ireland.

Hosts FORAS – the supporters’ trust which owns and runs Cork City – has just overseen the club’s first season back in the top flight, and spokeswoman and Project Manager Niamh O’Mahony says the efforts of fans – backed by pan-European organisation Supporters Direct Europe – are now focusing on a nationwide effort to solve some of the long-term problems in Ireland.

“We’ve heard a lot about the problems in the League, and who is and is not to blame. For us, that debate has led us to the point where we’re all asking what part we – clubs, fans and supporters’ trusts – can play to fix them, and to do so collectively.”

Obviously its a good idea to be aware of this happening but even better would be for fan to turn up to this and see whats actually happening. Its a two day event so its probably best to over night it if you have to travel more than a couple of hours.

If anyone wants any info on travel or accommodation then just shout away and i'll try and help with that.

I recently posted a Travel Resources thread (http://foot.ie/threads/173229-Travel-Resources-and-Info-for-LOI-Games?highlight=travel+resources) which ideally would help people out as well.

Really vital people make this if they can, follow along on social media and spread the word. Forums are full of discussions on governance and community so here's a chance to make those opinions count.

Just wondering, of the folks who were involved in NLU and NLSA, what do you think of this exercise? Just trying to gauge peoples interest in it.
