The new game is out today - has anyone got it?

Just getting the demo now off Steam. I'm looking forward to playing the classic mode - 2012 was very, very tedious to the point you'd be spending 4 hours on pre-season, then playing 44 games a season in the league. Hopefully they've tightened up the LOI this year.

Argos seems to be the cheapest place to buy it. 50 euro on steam, it's only €37.99 in Argos. I'll get the demo for a while and then possibly the full game before christmas.

Having just taken over Shels in FIFA I can honestly say after an all night session of that I do not need FM in my life. Away with ye.

I looked at the LOI in the editor and looks like provincial leagues and some district leagues are added and set up to be added to the game. Tried making some sort of pyramid structure but no luck yet. Bit tricky. Galway & DL called North-West Premier and Mayo League called North-West First Division XD.
The A Champ is still in the league pyramid in the editor but inactive. Leaving it there causes problems as does trying to remove it, as far as I can see anyway.

I'm just continuing with my save from the demo for now anyway. LLM with Cornwall giants Truro City.

Halfway into my first season, my first impression is that the LOI is a lot better researched. Its quality in relation to other leagues is probably a bit more realistic (ie weaker). Shamrock Rovers are noticeably worse, Sligo slightly better, though Drogs still can't catch a break. The player assessment seems a bit more true to life - the likes of Forrester and Maguire are no longer poor players, though the young Derry players like P McEleney and McLaughlin seem to be a bit underrated.

Strangely, if you choose to start in the 2013 season, Cork seem to be put into the Champions League. Obviously nobody told the makers that in this league we give Shelbourne the title by default.

Incidentally, my first season is eerily reminiscent of the real thing too. I'm hovering around fourth while enduring a goal drought playing uninspiring football. I did, however, beat Rubin in the Europa League.

I'd imagine any kinks will be worked out for the January update. There's a lad on facebook has his own page dedicated to research for Irish teams in Football Manager. Does a great deal of work on it too. You should forward any complaints onto him.

Ah right, cool, thanks for that. I've been adding transfers as I hear about them but obviously there's not much business been done. Gary Twigg impressing in the Irish League apparently.

Loving the new version just got it over the weekend and started a season with Wolves in the Championship. Finished 2nd and Liverpool finished 19th and got relegated - Suarez to Chelsea, Reina to Arsenal and Stevie G deciced to stay.So all in all its pretty realistic.

Going to have a run through the LOI when i get home from work today. Dundalk has a decent budget but im going to have to clear out the squad ASAP and raid the free market.

Price went up by €5 euro in Argos. €45 euro in Gamestop, €39.99 in Xtra vision, and still €49.99 with Steam. I must get it this week, still haven't really tried the demo properly. It doesn't feel like Football Manager to me unless I'm playing League of Ireland.

I got it for €27.99 on wowhd on Saturday, including delivery. I think that was during a sale, not sure if it's still running.

I meant buying it directly from Steam CD. You can put 99% of games you buy on Steam.

Just spotted that Meppen-Walter lad from Manchester City on my scouting list. I wonder if he's in prison in the latest update.

Someone in the Vatican in illegal 'FM 2013' dowload shocker: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/football-manager-2014-addictive-its-2791025

Ever imagine the Pope fine tuning his formation just before a service? How about an archbishop delving into the transfer market for a tricky winger?

As impossible as it sounds, neither is out of the question, after Football Manager chief Miles Jacobson revealed that one cheeky person from Vatican City illegally downloaded last season's instalment of the addictive game.

Jacobson told the London Games Conference 2013 that a staggering 10.1 million people got their hands on Football Manager 2013 after a leak on the web on May 12.

Illegal downloaders' IP addresses were discovered by the Sports Interactive team as the crack was embedded with a tracking device called Flaw.

It led them to finding out the largest number of illegal downloads came from China (3.2m), followed by Turkey (1.05m) and Portugal (781,785). Brits (547,000) were the fifth worst offenders after Italy.

The list runs down all the way to the Vatican – the world's smallest state with little over 800 residents, one of which has been identified as a mad football fan.

The less-than-holy act is even more remarkable considering that most Vatican residents are Catholic clergy or workers of the Swiss guard.

The hunt is on to find the Vatican's FM addict.

Or maybe he only ever takes an interest in the youth team....
