Bray Wanderers eircom First Division title hopes have been dealt a blow with the news that experienced centre half Wesley Charles could miss four of the club’s remaining league matches due to the World Cup qualifiers.

Charles plays for St Vincent and the Grenadines who have a number of World Cup qualifiers coming up over the next few months and the loss of such an experienced player will not help the Seagulls’ cause.

Pat Devlin’s side came from a goal down to draw with leaders UCD at the Carlisle Grounds on Friday night to keep them in third place in the table and with only ten games to play in the league, no side can afford to drop any more points.

With Charles expected to join his country for the World Cup qualifiers, the 28-year-old will miss the matches against Kildare County, Athlone Town and Monaghan United on the last day of the season.

The loss of Charles is one that Devlin has had to cope with in the past as he missed the league games against Cobh Ramblers and Sligo Rovers earlier in the season.

I was listening to East Coast Radio last night to Pat Devlin, and the match that Wes has been away for was cancelled in Florida due to the weather, we could have done with him for the UCD game.

Is that for definite yeah? If he is going to miss the Kildare County game, a game County will have to win, that will be a huge loss for ye and a huge boost for us! We'll see what happens I suppose!
