I rarely back my own team, but I have a few quid on Cork City (-1) vs Dundalk. Dundalk are down up to 11 players (http://www.dundalkfc.com/preview-dundalk-decimated-for-cork-trip/) for the game through injury/suspension so will be fielding a mostly reserve side.

Friday, October 19, 2012
7:05 p.m. Drogheda United v Sligo Rovers (live on RTE2)
7:45 p.m. Bray Wanderers v Bohemians

Dundalk could be without up to 11 players for their game against Cork City at Turner’s Cross on Friday night (kick-off 7.45pm), with five regulars certain to miss the long trip south.

And with Keigan Parker 5/1 to be first goalscorer with PaddyPower you can't fail ;)

I'm pretty sure he doesn't play for Cork anymore.

Congratulations on not getting the joke.

I'm hoping we can keep rolling, but given the way things have been in Sligo this week the smart money could be on Drogheda. The only thing that might rescue us is plying without pressure and the motivation of a few of our players who haven't yet got contracts for next season. I'd like to see Buchanan get 90 minutes as he's looked decent in the few runouts he's had.

Dave McMillan almost won Goal of the Season twice tonight. First, he scored a copy of this -

cvl1lqUeowQ

- and then nearly scored a copy of this -

2Pk3dndA4NU

- but the Rovers keeper made a super stop.

Rovers created a fair few chances though - they were fairly wasteful overall, so we can't really complain about the defeat. Except when their keeper should probably have walked for a foul outside the box. Decent game of ball though.

Managers are far too quick to blame officials and Cooke was wrong.
Delighted for Crogheda. Deserved Europe after keeping it going all season.
We looked like a team with not a lot to play for and after the celebrations all week a performance like that was inevitable.

Full Results:

Drogheda 2 -1 Sligo Rovers
Bray 1 - 4 Bohz
Cork 3 - 0 Dundalk
Derry 2 - 1 St Pats
Shamrock Rovers 2 -1 UCD

Still a bit to play for next week, 2nd place is still for the taking, and 5th-8th place is any ones guess. A Cork or Bohs win will knock us from 5th.

Drogs in Europe now, good reward for their surprisingly good season, solid finish, amazing what can be done with average but very hard working players.

They can use Oriel Park now to play their european home match, 20k less of a journey than heading to Dalymount, I'm sure we can rent it out for a decent rate.

They might want to play it on a proper football pitch though:p

They'll get pasted though, fair play for getting there and they may get past the first round but they'll get spanked in the next round. Its the Euro trip that fans will have to say "best go on the first trip because we mightn't get another".

Still better then not being there at all.

I'm not sure they'll get pasted at all. People have been saying since the start of the season that they're going to fall apart at some stage.

If they hang onto their better players (Sava, G. Brennan, etc.) I can see them putting in a decent enough effort in Europe.

With having European football they might attract one or two quality players also.

They'll get pasted though.

Won't be storming across Europe like all the other league of Ireland clubs then. :bulgy:

Bohs lost to one of the Deadliest Catch boats.

Rovers shamed themselves.

Pats beat a shower of Ruddigarians before being spanked by the least glamorous big club they could have drawn.

And Sligo lost to a shower of Ruddigarians.

Every trip is this trip if you're a serious League Of Ireland fan.

Irish clubs have lost to teams from Wales, Rockall and Pluto in recent years.
