With Sligo looking nailed on to win the League, Drogheda having picked up the League Cup and a 50/50 chance of a 'rural' FAI Cup win (2 finalists from outside Dublin) will we see all three major trophies going outside the Pale ?

Even a combination of Roddy Collins, Stephen Kenny, and Sean Connor couldn't lose the league from the position Sligo are in right now

OK Pedants, replace 'the Pale' with Dublin County. Sticking with Sligo as champs elect though !

Last time each major trophy was won outside of Dublin was 2007, and before that 2005. Seeing the end of Dublins 5 year dominance?
2007:
League - Drogheda
FAI cup - Cork
League Cup - Derry
2005:
League - Cork
FAI cup - Drogheda (Never said it was Cork.)
League Cup - Derry

I think we're seeing the real weakness of the Dublin sides in the First Division table. Not one Dublin side in the top eight, shocking.
2005:
League - Cork
FAI cup - Cork
League Cup - Derry
Eh? ;)

That's a damn mis-quote and you know it.
Yes you are.
Considering you and your cronies on here were predicting our club's demise at the start of the season (and some of you for a long time before that) I wouldn't pass any heed on what your opinion is now.

Is Dunphy right about the calibre of people involved in LOI - along with all the usual excuses re dominance of GAA - are the main reason for its inability to carve out a decent niche?
Maybe, Dolan has a point improve facilities and this will encourage crowds.
Money tends to be a very important building block for success.

If Sligo win the league, it'll be the first time since we won it in 2005 that it's gone to a team from outside the pale/east coastal area.
It's only happened 3 times in the last 20 years (2x Cork City - 1992/93 and 2005, 1x Derry City 1996/97).

That is staggering when you think of it, so 20% of the league wins in 20 years are outside the pale, that speaks volumes to be honest.
