 Can anyone clarify the promotion playoff situation. I take it the division winners will be promoted, but what's the story with the second promotion spot? Do 2nd and 3rd playoff in a two legged tie? And are the bottom team in the premier automatically relegated?
Jesus I don't wanna be in a seven team 1st division next year......

The bottom team in the premier are basically Monaghan so they are relegated and the winner of the first division is replacing them.
2nd will play 3rd in a 2 leg home and away play off and then go on to play second last in the premier for a chance to be promoted.
As it stands it's,
Limerick promoted
Waterford vs Longford
Longford vs Waterford
Dundalk vs Longford/Waterford

Is the Dundalk game one or two legs?

Going by the fixtures list it is two legged. I presume the first division team at home in the first game and then travelling to the premier team for the second leg.

Just going to put this out there, there is no chance of us playing Premier League football next year.

If we get some players back then there's a small chance. I hear Daniel Purdy is back running. Might be an outside chance of him featuring. Good to see Haverty back last night.

I hope that Jamie Duffy never plays for us again for his antics after being sent off last night.. Shame on him for what he did when he was goin down the tunnel.. Its very worrying that we have collapsed over the last few months. Its sort of like last season.. I think we will need a lot of luck against Waterford in the playoffs so a lot of prayers will have to be said Im afraid.

Still find the playoffs very tough to call. You could make a case for any of the three teams winning it. I'd make Waterford marginal favourites but if Sean Maguire got injured that would change.

from what I heard he stuck the fingers up at the limerick fans who were taunting him when he got sent off. I dunno what it is but i just have a feeling that we will beat waterford in the playoffs.

We're finished. And this isn't pessimism, it is the truth. Not getting slaughtered in the play-off is what I'm hoping for. I've never seen such disinterest and laziness in years from a Town team. There was more hunger in 2007 when we went down. Bayly and Duffy should banned from Flancare Park. Jamie Duffy should stick with the singing cos **** me he didn't take a ball once last night.
And Cousin's? Limerick won the league on Friday night and Scully was more vocal and animated. He still gave more of a ****! I was so frustrated.

They didn't care last night that was reflected in the team selection. The Salthill game was I reckon a sulking performance after losing to Waterford. I wouldn't expect much out of the Finn Harps game with absolutely nothing to play for but if there's not a decidedly improved performance in the play off games then there's something wrong in the squad. We'll have McDonagh back, hopefully Collins as well, which with Haverty back should tighten things up defensively. Skelly will be available up front too, a bit of physical presence is needed up front.

I thought the lad that came on up front with the orange boots absolutely bust his balls for ye last night when down to 10 men. He wasn't getting too far but tried as hard as possible to make it harder for us and put pressure on. If ye can get a performance like that out of more players then ye have a great chance. Waterford though seem to step it up a gear in the bigger games and if Maguire is on form ye could be in trouble.
At the moment I would still make it too close to call cause you never know what might happen.

I know he stuck his finger up at us but everyone got more of a laugh out of him reacting to the crowd.

I am thinking of heading up for the visit as wasnt there earlier this season.. There wont be too many ppl at it from Longford.. I think we will lose that game too as its a non event!
Was planning on heading to ballybofey but heading to the Germany game Friday and the likelihood of making it all the way up to Donegal from Dub on Saturday morning is unlikely..

Would be great to see a crowd of away fans up. Adds to the atmosphere, which currently, is lacking in Finn Park.
