Largely due to her "personal relations" with Mick Wallace, it would appear, unclear whether she's left the ULA entirely. Personally, I'm torn about this, her position might have been inadvisable, but she always appeared to be a highly-intelligent, straight-talking politician who stood by the courage of her convinctions, more so than most of her colleagues of any left-wing shade, and it'll be harder for her to articulate her views as an independent.

Now now. The Socialist Party has made it very clear that it was due to her public political relationship with Mick Wallace and nothing else.

FF and Labour? Eugh.

Tell me something of note the ULA have done since being elected except telling people not to pay the household tax and standing up for the right of Dickie not to wear a suit?

Well the household tax and the other taxes along the way are worth fighting against - Im sure you have seen that Fbook thingy sent out by the TD from Wicklow showing Ireland paying 64 Billion already to the banks - yeah sure there is no money for our heath service:rolleyes:
Apart from voting for the usual rubbish that got us into this condition - what's your solution (for the working man?)

I think Daly has done alright, up until the prevaricating on Wallace. A loss to the Socialist Party. Hard for the left to get much media coverage given the media's bias (look at them falling over themselves to buy Reilly's pathetic blaming of CPA for the health cuts, when he's done feck all reform).

Not a fan of the ULA as it is, but the idea of it is a good one and one I'd get behind.

That said, they've lost one of the better ones in Clare Daly.

I was being facetious. Lawlor believed that he was a victim of a witch-hunt and he was cracked but he still went to prison on that basis.

And come on... Daly went to jail for protesting at the bin tax. Not exactly the sort of thing that revolutionaries are made of.

She's anti-bin tax, anti-water tax and pro-Mick Wallace. Hmmm...
