McGinty never refused to play for ireland. He was first choice centre half at 17 for the 19s. The fa youth cup final was on the same night the FAI allowed the playoff under 19s games be scheduled for and he had to play for utd in cup final as per his contract. What is the point of making up lies?
He withdrew himself from the squad for no apparent reason at the start of last season and then never played for the under-19's again despite having played a major role the year before when a year young.
There is no lies here, merely the facts which you can choose to ignore if you wish.

I dont know where u are getting that idea that \mcginty withdrew from the squad. He played in 2 friendlies against serbia this time last year and was then not picked for the qualifier squad in october. Therefor where is the withdrawing himself from the squad coming from?

Ireland U21 team: McCarey, Doherty, White (c), Egan, Williams, Henderson, Forde, Carruthers, Doran, Murray, O'Kane. #COYBIG (https://twitter.com/search/?q=%23COYBIG&src=hash) #ITAIRLU21 (https://twitter.com/search/?q=%23ITAIRLU21&src=hash)
Egan has played right full up to this, but he's a centre half at Sunderland. Midfield looks strong, bit weak up front, and a little inexperienced in defence

Egan will be at centre back with Doherty right full back. Carruthers is playing in the hole upfront according to the Italian TV pictures.

Italy 1/4 to win this in the bookies. If we get anything out of this, it would be a great result.

Italians must have had 75% possession so in the first 10 minutes.

What a goal! Who was that, O'Kane?
edit: it was Murray. What a terrific chip.

Murray, on his debut too! Really smart from Doran to let it through. Kudos go to Conor Henderson for the exquisite pass.

Still not sure how we're winning here, it's been all Italy.

Have to question the sanity of lumping every set piece long to Doran who is about 2 feet tall and has misjudged the flight of every ball so far.

Is this the bulk of last years U19s? 3-1 up against Italy. They're deteriorating. They beat Italy 3-0 last year :)

That we'll lose 4-2 against a lesser rated side?

Some encouraging signs for the future:
Former Italy and AC Milan boss Arrigo Sacchi is now in charge of elite talent for the association and requested access to the Irish dressing-room to laud King’s kids for the manner they went about their triumph.
To do so with nine men — Derrick Williams was sent-off in the first-half, Anthony Forde in stoppage time — was an incredible feat for a team assembled in only a few days.
"It was a nice touch by such a legendary figure," said King of Sacchi.
"He was one of 3,500 Italians in the stadium and none of them could have doubted we deserved to win the tie.
"The main area we worked on in training over the campaign was mastering the continental model of retaining possession and hitting teams on the counterattack. We scored all four goals on Thursday in that fashion. It all points to a big future but they must be given chances with their clubs too."

Defend deep with numbers and hit the other team on the counterattack, sound familiar anyone?
geysir

The counterattack tactic is not familiar with our senior team, unless you'd regard a 'lofted clearance' to a target man, as a counterattack.
