Looks like Gary's broken his ankle according to the man himself on twitter, had surgery this morning. Disappointing news for him and us.

****e. He was playing really well as the target man. He broke his foot twice before didn't he? He's not having a lot of luck with injury. Any word on when or if Austin Skelly will be back?

Balls, thought Skelly might be back soon. We're going to have change our way of playing as Purdy and Bermo aren't going to win much in the air like Gary was doing. It's a big concern now where the goals will come from.

He had awful injury problems when he was us, broke a few bones on separate occasions.

As a former team mate I would just like to correct Roo69 re Gary's injuries. He only ever broke one bone before this which was in January 2011 whilst playing for the Irish Colleges. It was the infamous 5th metatarsal. Due to a mis-diagnosis regarding the extent of the injury which led to Bray bringing him back too soon (not the fault of Bray I might add), he re-broke the same bone in his first match back with far worse consequences. This led to surgery and a pin having to be inserted with the result that he was out for a further 6 months. He actually scored on his first start back against Drogheda if you remember but the season was as good as over by then.

He's still very young really it's unfortunate for him to miss large chunks of football. Hopefully he's back for a Town Premier Division campaign next year!

Ye its true about purdy I heard it this morning disaster especially after his recent performances. Again I say griffiths and bermo need to step up big time in the run in.
