Me and the lady friend were talking about womens' football, and one of the ideas that came out was the idea of getting more exposure* for the game by playing women's games as a sort of an "undercard" at men's matches, before kick-off. So if Arsenal were playing at home at 3 on a Saturday, their women would kick off their game at 12.30, and by the end of the game, you'd have 40,000 odd people watching womens' football.

The main problems I can see are the wear and tear on the pitch, and the organisational problems if, say, someone travelled down to see Newcastle ladies, and had no desire to stay, and pay full ticket price, to see Swansea's men. I suppose there's also the fact that some people mightn't be too happy with the possible insinuation that womens' football is just second fiddle to the men's game, as opposed to a great sport in its own right.

Any thoughts?
