The only thing that gives me some optimism on that score is the wins over Cork and Bray in the League Cup this season. Limerick can raise their game when they want to. I was at that Bray game, and it wasn't a case of the home team not caring, at least from my perspective.
I think Limerick could live with any of the bottom five in the PD when it comes right down to it.

That cork under 18 team wont offer much in the prem and as for Bray.....prob one of the worst sides ive seen in some years and we have beaten them 3 times in the last 15 months scoring 4 goals in each game

In fairness, your team should technically be well capable of holding their own in the Premier. The only weak point in the team is the backline. That's about it as far as I see.

Pat purcell will be past that level for sure and a few others but at least been in the premier will attract better players.
Cant agree with this either, Pat Purcell is a player I'd definitely be keeping on from the games I did manage to make this season. A bit of pace around him needed maybe but his plus points outweigh any minuses.

Not much point Waterford or Longford beaten limerick if they cant beat the teams below them and get promoted, limerick will be have nom problems in the premier division.

Thats complete bull imo Paddy will be fine up there with a good partner next to him. Hes a lot better then anything UCD,Dundalk ,Bray or Shels have anyway.
Paddy is ok in this division but will be found out in the premier next year.

In the four years/seasons that Pat Scully and his dog have been at the club. The record against the teams that mattered
2009
Shels 1 Limerick 0
Fingal 1 Limerick 1
Limerick 0 UCD 0
Limerick 0 Shels 1
Limerick 1 Fingal 4
UCD 2 Limerick 1
Shels 3 Limerick 3
Fingal 2 Limerick 1
2010
Limerick 0 Derry 1
Waterford 2 Limerick 1
Monaghan 2 Limerick 1
Derry 0 Limerick 0
Limerick 0 Waterford 0
Limerick 1 Monaghan 1
Limerick 0 Derry 1
Waterford 3 Limerick 0
Monaghan 0 Limerick 0
2011
Cork 1 Limerick 0
Shels 1 Limerick 1
Monaghan 1 Limerick 1
Limerick 0 Cork 0
Limerick 0 Shels 3
Limerick 0 Monaghan 2
Cork 3 Limerick 3
Shels 1 Limerick 2
Monaghan 0 Limerick 1
2012...so far
Waterford 3 Limerick 1
Limerick 1 Longford 2
Limerick 0 Waterford 1
Longford 0 Limerick 2
Waterford 2 Limerick 1
Limerick 0 Longford 0
Limerick 0 Waterford 1
With that Monaghan team winning the ea cup over the weekend i wouldnt be too sure about our future with the current management in charge.
If we go up id say he will be in charge but in the past Dundalk sacked john Gill when they got promoted (Limerick beat them 3 out of 4 that season with a group of kids) Others would have had us promoted 2 seasons ago with the effort that Pat O'Sullivan, staff and volenteers have put in over the years

No not really i am just enjoying limerick been on top of the 1st division and looking forward to premier division next year, it might have been ugly at times but it will be job done and makes the Chairman, Manager, players successful as much as it may hurt a few.

Your posts are ridiculous especially your answer to Gaels post with our record in big games....So you either have no clue what you are talking about or you are a wum imo.

Paddy needs to move in with our sports scientist and keep himself fit. Next year could show a lot of people up if the players aren't able to compete physically. Jeffrey Judge needs to put on a bit of weight for starters.
Something unrelated to this post... But who is "the dog" that Gael keeps referencing?

I think that is a bit of a joke between a few people.....Best off ignoring it id say cant see people coming out and answering it and it wouldnt be fair for others to start guessing.

doesnt it?what it says is that if longford or waterford had the budget our manager has the league would have been over at least 5 or 6 games ago.

Why is it ridiculous there is no point waterford or longford beating limerick if they cant beat the teams bellow them, as far back as i can remember the most consisted team in the league wins the league and gets promoted thats what we are on course to achieve, i am sure scully in the off season will recruit players with experience in the top division to keep us there and maybe finish in the top 3 the first year, as i said before bluewhitearmy i have no agenda with scully and i want to enjoy our success this year it took along time for us to get here (early 90s , 93 if im not mistaking) as i have said before you have your agenda bluewhitearmy.

Its ridiculous because the point being discussed was our record against big teams so how Longford and Waterford get on against small teams has no bearing whatsoever.
Yes you have said many times i have an agenda and it still remains something stupid that you decided to make up and has been proven wrong more then once.

The title of this thread may have been a bit premature a week ago but after Sean Brosnans epic 85th minute winner last night i think it's fair to say that barring a miracle now 20 long years of suffering in the graveyard division is finally at an end. 1992 was the last time a league title was lifted by a captain of Limerick FC. 20 years is a hell of a long time. The relief and ectasy on the field and in the terraces last night when Brosnan netted the winner lifted 20years of frustration for alot of fans. Some on here are bemoaning the lack of champagne football last night but forget that it's all about winning games now. We may have the stongest squad on paper but no matter who you have in your squad it's not easy win league titles at any grade so lets savour the next couple of weeks and we finish the job.

Well done on the result lads. After 20 years, ye deserve to be back in amongst the big boys. Just a heads up that there is live commentary from the Finn Harps v Waterford match in Ballybofey tonight at 7.45. A win for Harps or draw will guarantee Limerick the title. You can listen here and follow the link.

have to go and make an effort now against Longford next week. Kinda glad cos if we went up feeling safe hed have played Guthrie on one wing and Kluciar in goals.

A loss or draw to Longford and Waterford win over Mervue would make for a nervy final night, but Limerick should be good enough to get 3 points. Losing at home to SD Galway does not indicate a team in the best of form.

We didn't deserve a loss against Waterford tonight. They had 2 chances, 2 goals, 2 soft free kicks.

Waterford also play a day before Limerick next weekend, so the team will know exactly what they need to do to finish it off beforehand. Waterford should beat Athlone I suppose, but they weren't all bad last night.
