Brendan Markey scored a hat-trick for us in a 6-2 friendly win over Belgrove at the AUL Complex last night (good result actually, wish I'd know this game was taking place :mad: ) and may now be offered a contract.

The other scorers were Gary O, Cottsy and Scott Friel (from forty yards, apparently :eek: )

Could we be seeing the revival of the legendary Markey/Farrell partnership that tore up the First Division in 2001?

Brendan wasn't even on the bench for Monaghan against Rockmount...

Markey was on the bench for us on Sunday, came on in the second half. You're welcome to him! Since he left DC he's played for Dundalk (who sacked him for breaking the curfew in Cobh), Athlone and ourselves and seemed content to pick up his paycheck with the least commitment possible. Having said that, if anyone can get the best out of him it's Roddy. As far as we're concerned I'm glad to see the back of him - maybe now we can afford to finish the juvenile pitches!
