From the general talk around town about the game and the fact they have now opened up the other stand and terraces for sale I would think over 10,000 sold already. If they got 15,000-18,000 sold before the day of the game and got a few arriving on the day it would be a success in my eyes.

Many turning up on the Sunday won't be there on the Friday! It's a pity the Longford game isn't the following Friday. Anyways, I'm should be able to take in the Longford game. As for the Sunday Game, not likely I'll be around. Croker could be calling for an All-Ireland quarter-final should we get over Clare in the Gaelic Grounds.

Full squad brought over. Doesn't mean everyone will play though.
Any body know the story with television rights? I take it no one in Ireland will be able to watch it. Have heard fox in America have it but no word on anyone in Europe broadcasting it.

according to one of yesterdays tabloids,Limerick had sold enough tickets by Friday to cover all costs, great news as its all profit from now on. If the weather stays fine they should get a lot of walk ups. Lookin forward to today. Enjoy the day everyone!!

SO much for all the star about 6 first team players in the whole squad lescott, clicey, hart, nasri, millner, dekco, the rest are reserve team players joke shop so much for aurgeo, tevez, de jong, kompany. A lot of people around me shaken there heads
Still some decent players thomas. plenty of full internationals. hopefully a decent game and plenty of goals for casual supporters who have gone to game tonight

Outside of the players I named who else has been any were the first team last season none all I'm saying is the likes of tevez, augero, Mario, sliva that were all promised are nowhere.

In fairness I would say what is on the field is pretty good for a friendly. No team is going to risk putting out a full strength squad two nights in a row so close to seasons start

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I don't think the Limerick public who paid out good money for this one will be pleased. Farcical!

As far as I remember the press release stated a full squad would travel. No one ever mentioned a full squad would play.

look at all the friedlies that have been on in the last few weeks.None of them had anything that would resemble a starting prem team. Its a pre season friendly, get over it. Good crowd and nice atmoshphere. Hopefully we might get a few more up to our next home game.
Never saw so many limerick tops in my life!! where are these people on a Friday night? Not in Jackman park thats for sure. Most important thing from tonight is the profile of LFc to the general public.

did not expect a full squad to play but they did not even send over a full squad , joe hart did not play, clichy , lescott, milner, dzeko . santa cruz , nasri so technically four first team players started page 20 -21 limerick post balotelli, nasri , yaya toure and the rest dont miss it and big picture of silva, kompany & balotelli ? premeir league champions manchester city.
but delighted they got a decent crowd at it and hopefully they can continue to attract big name teams to thomond in the future.

good crowd which for future reference will make it easier to attract teams of citys stature, surely people cant be surprised at city sending was was in essence a reserve team, they did play in germany last night where the big names were always going to play, still even at training session pace they were a joy to watch and a comfy seat as well so i enjoyed it.however best entertainment all night was listening to the two expert soccer guru,s on 95fm on the headphones, where do they find these guys.

Full team came over but not all played as expected.
Was a nice night out and a run around for our lads too.
Friday was a bigger game and as of now tomorrow is a bigger game too.
This match was a big one for the nuetrals but that's it.

Lescott, Clichy, Nasri, Milner, Santa Cruz, Dzecko - what other club-organised friendly had even two players of that stature since the Rovers-Madrid game?
And hey, Ticketmaster had me promised it was a Limerick City team I'd be seeing and all I got was Limerick FC - y'don't hear me complaining . . .

Listen lads I'd get over it but there was a a lot of people around me that expected to see the big names from city and were left massively disappointed when the city squad was called out the superstars that were promised and on the advertising boards were not there. But overall great turn out great atmosphere we Limerick tried hard

Well done to limerick FC and pat osullivan in particular,a very well organised pre season friendly for man city, massive crowd out there,ok would have being nice to see ballotelli there and aguero, but you can't have them all,a big bualidh bos to limerick FC for an enjoyable night.

By the way hopefully a limericks legend son will be playing with limerick next year, probably the best centre mid in the country.

The only people who would've been disappointed last night would've been those who are not clued in. Look at all of City's pre season games - it's ALWAYS a mix of first teamers and youngfellas. Balotelli and Silva are not back yet and didn't feature against Wolfsburg either. Aguero went off injured 10 mins from time against Wolfsburg so he was never appearing last night.
On the pitch last night were 4 players from Euro2012 - Clichy, Nasri, Lescott and Milner. There was easily €150m worth of talent on the pitch. Denis Suarez and Boyata are two top class young players who City have huge hopes for. That was a very good side they fielded to be fair so no one should be complaining

That was a stronger line-up than I would have expected. People seem a mite surprise that Mancini wasn't treating this game with the same degree of seriousness as the opening EPL fixture.
