Ok, we all know about John Delaneys lack of shame when asking for ridiculous things (http://video.ireland.com/video/iLyROoafIA3R.html) while we are on a World Stage but has he got it absolutely wrong here again asking for 'Special UEFA Recognition For Ireland Fans (http://www.balls.ie/2012/06/16/sober-john-delaney-asks-for-special-uefa-recognition-for-ireland-fans/)'. He is making us out to be a laughing stock. Can the guy try and curb this crap and get on with the administration of the league and Irish football?

?? Is this a real poll? Where is the just plain, NO option? You set up a poll for this and yet no mod has set up a poll for the player of the tournament yet??

I don't think he's sharp enough to concoct an elaborate charade to deflect away from his day job. I think he's just that small minded and genuinely believes the past two weeks have been a positive thing for soccer in this country.

If there was a 'No' option I'd vote in this poll but at the moment it's just a bit of a silly poll.
Poll - Fixer votes
Silly poll - No vote from Fixer

Whether he appears it or not, he's certainly not stupid. He wouldn't be at the top of the FAI earning what he is if he was an idiot.

I would imagine we are going to win the FIFA Fair Play Award unless a guy runs off the pitch from an Argentinian league game to rescue a small child from man-eating crocodiles or something else more virtuous than a bunch of paddies on the ****. Not sure about asking for it though.

The question Delaney should be asking UEFA is this:

Look, you've now seen yourself what support can be mobilised if a top quality football producted can be created for the Irish market. You've got to help us here. The structure of European club football is killing us. Demand is being drained from our game by England's league yet we receive no solidarity payments of any kind. What can you do? We're good UEFA members, as you well know, but we can only do so much in this landscape.

Of course, I'd also suggest that JD asks some pertinent questions of the local game & the FAI too.
