Everything has speeded up now. The nerves have been jangling all week and its not getting any easier the closer we get to the game. Will our midfield hold up? Will we go an early goal up or down? Isn't it great to be back in the big time. Lets do ourselves proud on Sunday and grab the three points. There will be stages of the game when it will be backs to the wall stuff. But we have enough players in our team who can score from set pieces. I would not be at all surprised if a header from Dunne or O'Shea wins this game for us. COME ON IRELAND! COME ON YOU BOYS IN GREEN!

Ten years we've waited through the Israel matches, the Stan era, not to mention November 18th, 2009. I'm skipping my college graduation to watch this (not sure I'd have been bothered to go anyway) though I have to admit I'm not as excited as I thought I'd be, probably because few people I know know that the Euros are going on and those who do are either going for Spain, Holland, or Germany. Regardless, time for revenge for Davor Suker 1999.

Oh that israeli keeper. i don't think I've ever been as annoyed as the time he got Andy O'Brien sent off.

Yes indeed, time for revenge on Croatia for their nazi past!!! Oh and for Suker in 1999

This feels most like Cameroon in 2002. We were playing a team with a strong reputation but were hard to benchmark. Cameroon were also a mixed bag of genuine quality and relative blandness. We were worried about our midfield without Keane but we had bags of inner belief and resolve. I met Graham Taylor the night before and he had seen Cameroon and thought we had a lot to fear.

Croatia are easier to benchmark but we don't know whether the Croatia that looked pitiful at home to Sweden, ordinary away to Greece or impressive away to Turkey will turn up.

I'm torn. I always believe but I'm also worried that things just won't go for us.

38-year-old Dutchman Bjorn Kuipers will referee Sunday's Group C clash in Poznan

He did our home game against Estonia. I hope we treated him well.

If I were you, if he were to bring that CD I would abandon him in the Polish hinterlands.

They had an impressive group campaign in '08 winning all their group games. Bit of a surprise at the time they got knocked by Turkey in the quarters.

An equaliser in the last seconds of that game, did come as a bit of a surprise in a game they had done all but won.

Can... not... wait. 10 yrs. Time to write some new memories!!!

Was just reading on ESPN about Croatia:

"By contrast, the defense is seen as slightly shaky. Players like Domagoj Vida and Ivan Strinic have yet to prove themselves on the big stage, while Josip Simunic, at 34, has started to show signs of wear and tear. Though he's a proven tournament player and just a handful of caps away from making his 100th appearance for Croatia, Simunic may not even make the starting lineup on Sunday."

We need Duff and McGeady at their best, and Keane and Doyle sharp when the opportunities come. Their biggest weakness is at the back, it's not our game but we need to apply as much pressure as possible.

Right all, I'm setting my alarm for 3.35am so I'll have 10 minutes to find a working stream on the net (Spain v Italy game is live on Japanese tv, but not ours).

If anybody could post up working streams or generally reliable sites for streams (and forum rules permitting), I'd be most grateful.

I'll be watching on German TV which has really gone down hill since Gunter Netzer retired at the end of last season. He was the only pundit on the national TV station that really knew his stuff about the foreign leagues.
Now they all just bring out the football clichés to describe how we play - hard working, long ball etc. Not far off the mark but more by fault than design :p

Gutted I'm not over in Poland. But will be cheering the Boys in Green on from a sunny Minnesota. Cracking day here. Great drying out. Here's hoping for an Irish win. Worried about O'Shea's lack of form, the liability that is Stephen Ward, Dunne's lack of match fitness, St Ledger's patchy season in the Championship, the tired displays of Duff recently, our lack of class at centre midfield, the inconsistency of McGeady although he looks to be coming into form at the right time, the worrying form Doyle is in. But other than that we are looking good. The Irish always play above themselves on the big stage and here's hoping today is no different. COYBIG!!!!!!

Just got the jersey on, stopping off to pick up a few friends and family in an hour and a bit. We'll be descending en masse to O'Hanlons bar in downtown Regina run by a Clare man. Here we go lads. To all Irish fans everywhere - enjoy! This is it!

COME ON YOU BOYS IN GREEN!!!!

So bloody nervous!! Come on Ireland, how good it would be to get a win here, but a draw wouldnt be bad at all either. If we can at least match them or keep them quiet in midfield, I fancy that we will score.

Going to watch in Gorky Park, was thinking of hitting one of the Irish bars, or even the "Boston Pub" which just opened down the road, but since I've a friend's wedding in the morning, I figured I'll just get some air tonight. Supposed to be about 10,000 in the place tonight, right now it's just over that (according to the last text). A lovely 0-0 draw would be the nicest way to sicken my old colleagues who've been telling me that Ireland have no chance. Croatian media writing us off.

Apart from the goal against us I think we are playing well and if we avoid conceding another one if McClean and Walters come on in the last 20 to replace Duff and Dyle when they are knackered I think we will have too much for their shaky tired defence.

It was like somebody flicked a switch after 30 minutes and we retreated about 20 metres across the midfield.

Another horrible goal to give away.

I was worried that after we equalized we'd revert to type...and thats exactly what happened. If we continue in this same vein in the 2nd half we'll be in for a spanking.
