As it says at the top. FAI haven't commented except to say he can appeal the decision.

There's speculation, and there's wishful thinking on your part. Could be any player at any club.

not wishfull thinking at all. it'd be terrible news if any player fails a drug test. i just immediatly thought it might have been some UEFA thing but i guess it could easily be any team/player

I doubt if its a UEFA match as its first of all too quick for them to have got results back. (if it was in the papers they knew about it yesterday).

Secondly if it was a UEFA match i would have said that UEFA would have announced it not the FAI. Looks like a LOI match.

Hope it is not a player from cork city. (none of them look like junkies anyway )
It would be even more stupit if it a recreational drug and not performance enhancing.

Give it a couple of hours...

From a comedy point of view i think Barry Ryan would be the best choice...

He didn't play for CHF last night.

Coincidence? Probably, yeah. :)

If it is a Rovers player again then they're going to get .... err already have a bad name :D

It would be even more stupit if it a recreational drug and not performance enhancing.

IMO it would be WORSE if it was a performance enhancing drug as this would give the league a bad name. Recreational at least would only mean it is relevant to the player as a person not a footballer trying to cheat.

Completely off topic here, but you're signature is way off the mark Shelsman, unless I drank myself into such a stupor after our 2003 league win that I can't remember it ;)

Give it a couple of hours...

Rumour doing the rounds for the last few hours is that it's a Drogheda player. One's been named elsewhere but it wouldn't be fair to repeat it without any kind of verification.

Yeah, I saw a rumour on the bohs MB about a drogs player.

The player mentioned hasn't played for the drogs since the first round of the league cup. I'm not stating this as fact but surely he would be unlikely to be tested if he hasn't played in months.

It's more Bohs propaganda to put us off the game tonight. Last night they were signing Doolin as manager. Victory will be all the sweeter tonight.

A positive drugs test doesn't really affect the league but reflects badly on player himself.
