Manager Roddy Collins has kick-started the Dublin City revolution by signing four experienced personnel - all of whom go straight into the squad for the Vikings' Eircom Premiership clash with Derry City tomorrow.
Leading the way as part of the new Collins inspired regime is the capture of midfielder Mark Kenny from Shamrock Rovers. "I'm thrilled to have signed Mark," said Collins. "He was one of the most exciting talents to leave Ireland and while he had a chequered career at Liverpool few could question his footballing ability.
Collins has also signed twenty-eight year-old right-full back Danny Boxall from Bristol Rovers, versatile defender Scott Friel was on Glasgow Celtic's books and has recently been training with Partick Thistle while Ronnie Henry from Spurs is a highly regarded central defender.
"I'm bringing in experienced defenders and that's what we need at this stage. These players have all played at a higher level and apart from their experience, they bring lots of quality and are fully committed to the club.
Collins is not finished yet and plans to make more improvements to his side. "I'm still in the market to bring in more players and I expect to make further announcements in the next few days."
