Assigning prices to all the players though would be difficult though.

well player prices would only be tricky if someone really expensive was broughtinto the league

best way is just put them on a scale of 1-10

defo the league should do their own one - a la the MLS on their site

good idea. Prizes could be as you said Ireland tickets/jerseys, eircom League season tickets/jerseys of club of your choice.
