Not a bad draw. Gives them a chance to test themselves against top opposition, and they're away, so no terrible home display . . . though it would've been a nice moneyspinner to have in Jackman.
Plus, if all goes to all it's one distraction out of the way early on . . .

If rovers have crowd in it will be a bigger money spinner than Jackman. Not sure what they would expect for an FAI Cup game but anything near 2,500 and it will be better for us. Jackman only allowed about 2,000 as it is and we'd have to split that with them. I expect us to bring a nice crowd up there too.
An added bonus that we didn't get another first division side too.

This match is confirmed for next Friday at 8.
I can see us doing quiet well in this match. On the road, on a decent pitch against a team that actually want to attack.
Ultimately I can't see us coming away with the win.
Shams 2-1 Limeirck after we take an early 1-0 lead against the run of play.
Hopefully the fact shams most likely won't play us again this season and the fact we have some quality players in gamble and Bradley it might bring out a decent crowd to tallaght. I can see us bring around 100 if not more. If they can even get 2,000 to 2,500 out it will be a nice split for us.

In last 6 games Hoops have won 2, drawn 4, struggled away to Mons tonight. Certainly weaknesses in the team, not beyond Limerick to grab something. Could easily see a draw.

I am quietly confident for this one. Limerick are not expected to win, unlike in the league so the pressure is off. I think that is why we do better away from home. A 1-1 draw I reckon with Stephen Bradley scoring.

Hopefully not, because it'd be set for the Monday after the Longford game I think (someone can probably clarify it) but I would imagine a few of our players would have probably booked their holidays already and would be somewhere on a beach while our 19s get a run around.;)

Usually the games are played the following Tuesday but you could be right.
From a financial point it would be good. We get half the gate for the away match Friday and also have a nice crowd puller at home.

Dribble the length of the pitch before rounding the Swedish/South African (delete as applicable) clown in Rovers goal and slotting in the winner?

So who have we striker wise tommorrow?
Gaffney, Quinn, Sheedy, Coughlan and Brosnan.
Behan suspended, Foley injured, Cian Collins Injured and Sheehan injured.
Probably be looking at
Ryan
Kelly
Purcell
Guthrie
S.Tracey
O'Leary
Bradley
McGann
Quinn
Brosnan
Gaffney
Basically 4-5-1 but god only knows where he will have players playing. Bradley a little deeper I would think with no Gamble. Going to be fairly thin on the ground.

Disgraceful comments from the pair of you. Do you really need to be reminded he suffered a broken leg last season, his recovery has been difficult but there can be no doubting his commitment. Just getting back into the squad and now this happens, and all you can do is add insult to ijury. Ive read some amount of pure bile on here recently but thats the limit lads. I expected better from you two to be honest.

Not to speak for them, but I don't think they were doubting his commitment, just his proneness to injury and his wizdom in continuing his career in the circumstances. No one wants Sheahan to turn into Owen Hargreaves.

Horrible comments about Garry and absolutely stupid comments.
How can you call him injury prone even its not muscle injuries from running he is getting its a broken leg he had cause by a horrible tackle. Cant depend on him have you any idea of the work and pain he has gone through to get back even?
Minesapint you come on here saying that Scully should be given chances spouting off stupid reason after stupid reason why all of them being proved wrong but yet you dont think that a lad that has worked his balls off trying to get back from a horrific injury deserves a chance?
I for one wish Garry a speedy recovery and cant wit to see him return and continue his comeback to 100% fitness and the great player that he is.

Thought he was injured but he came on against Liverpool reserves. I take it he will be back in tonight. Tonight's match might actually suit him.
Any word on how the buses and cars are going for tonight. Could we be looking at the bones of 120 travelling?

Awful thing to say about a lad coming back from what he did. Spend 2 minutes talking to him and you'd realise a lot of players wouldn't have come back from what he did. He was in a cast for nearly 6 months. If he kept pulling a muscle, then yes, injury prone. Broken leg, dislocated toe, not injury prone, that's just unlucky with injuries.

Exactly not like the injuries he had were from lack of fitness on his part.

Awful thing to say about a young lad who when right can be one of the most effective players in the league..he has had no luck with injuries..he has worked his socks off to get back..and how scully can be defended on this yet a player get stuff like that said about him on this just sums it all up to me... The word clueless springs to mind :)

Considering the absences and the recent form, sounds like Limerick did as well as could have been expected. Hopefully will have built a bit of confidence heading into the truly big game next weekend. And still the League Cup to look forward to.

Was happy with the performance. Buttimer destroyed the game.
O'Leary was outstanding last night in my eyes. He maybe had a poor 5 to 10 minutes but barr that he was the most composed player on the pitch from both teams. He made a clown out of Shamrock Rovers players on numerous occasions. I haven't been Gaffneys biggest fan but last night was his best game since signing for us. He was an absolute work horse up front and caused a lot of problems for the Rovers defense when he got a chance.
The Rovers players where constantly falling over and diving etc… but I was expecting that from premier teams. I can see why they are so far behind Sligo though. They are like the premier version of some of our performances this season. Clueless enough going forward and making silly mistakes. Daryl Kavanagh changed the game for them when he came on.
