Yeah, it is hard to see Limerick's long term plans, if they want to get into the top tier and stay there, involving Pat Scully.
no hes great, keep him please!

Not sure how we got out of that with a point, but we'll take it. Thought the penalty was a wee bit harsh, but if it was at the other end I probably wouldn't. We're either riding our luck to be top at this stage, or grinding out good results while the team gels under a manager who's still finding his feet - just have to see how the next few weeks pan out.

Have to agree completely Fivesilver. No cohesion at all tonight. They really lifted their game when Joey went off and I sweated for the rest of it. Only for Gary Rogers and Peersy they'd have have ripped us a new one.
On the penalty, I thought it was the right call until I watched it on rte player after. I'm going to the Showgies a hell of a long time and can't even attempt to count all the times a player we let go came back to haunt us.
How did we let John Russell go?
Final whistle just blown in Tallafornia. 1-1. Really surprised at that, Shams had plenty of decent chances but just couldn't convert. Not that I'm complaining:cool:
A very one-sided draw especially once Farren went off. Some great saves from Doherty and a few interplays a few cm's out from combining. Derry's no 9 was awful upfront and yet he scored...?
Such was the dominance that the red card ha no effect on the flow of the game..the equaliser did when Rovers stopped doing what had been carving space open and was sacrificed for hoofing.
Delighted with the result last night, and happy out for Vinny Sull.
I fricking love playing in Tolka!

Rovers should've had the game outta sight by the time we scored. Seemed to me they were too laidback, particularly in front of goal. Thought the game was won. Twigg's was doing his best Zayed impression.

Pats offered him a lot more money. He was going to go to Canada until they came in with their offer.

More money?
RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE........How would you know what another club offerred him? You would be better off concentrating on your own club's affairs...
BLAH BLAH BLAH RABBLE RABBLE......
We are cat by the way.
Pats gave us a serious run around.
How we are top of the league is a mystery. Haven't seen us playing well yet this year.
Fair play to John Russell, he is a class act.

Think he has a job in Dublin which helped, smashing player fits in with Bolger and Chambers very well.

Always considered John Russell a good player and were it not for some bad luck with injuries he might well have made a career for himself at decent level over in England or elsewhere abroad. I am glad that he is playing for a manager now who recognises his ability and hopefully improves his game further. It seems that it has taken a while for the media and indeed Pats fans to notice him, which is strange although his game still has some faults that he could improve on.

Had to agree with this report from extra time Ha
""They can’t fool me. They may have replaced the ringmaster rap of Paul McGee with the professorial restraint of Tony Mannion in the dugout but these visitors to Wexford, trading as Galway, were none other than Salthill Devon in disguise. This is the reality of second tier semi professional Irish football where the blood sweat and tears is real enough but the referee probably takes home more cash than any of the participants.""

He said that at the time he signed alright. Couldn't play for Sligo as he couldn't commit to full time football.

It wouldnt matter if the banner was on the centre circle. Do you think RTE are going to put that on the TV.

This is the same RTE that had a "Monday Night Soccer RTE 2 8pm" billboard at the Showgrounds for the Setanta game. Maybe their programmers are a bit smarter than their ad people though.

They'd not have much choice on the other side of the ground. Basically, you're telling people at the ground to support your local football team..

That's where we are going wrong then. Our team get home made chicken curry and rice or chili con carne and rice or chicken pasta. All served with salad and wheaten bread.

I reckon if we had of held onto North and Rogers from last season we would win the league this year

No point in making a whole thread for it;
Do Airtricity have a representative at all games to dish out MOTM awards, or is it only for show on RTÉ?

Would be almost certain that's only for TV games.

Found one of those quotes;
"I was full-time with Sligo for the last two years but I will be working outside of football this year, if I can sort something out"
So doesn't really sound like Pats made him a mega offer

They offered him a nice bit more then us and enough to stop him going to Canada so it was a very good offer Pats gave him. No one really on mega money in the league.
