I still laugh about the time a few lads from Sligo were coming into the ground asking what the prize was... "a weekend for two in Sligo" was the answer.

Didn't Sorbo or Salmon Coloured win a prize once? RIP Dennis, the 'half time draw' was always a great part of the Flansiro experience.

Sorbo won a water filter tap thing. i got cash once, but i really wanted the boiler suit. the prizes were legendary.

I think i won it 3 times before i got the job as his apprentice, one thing i can say is i won't ever do it with the same skill as the man himself. He had a great sense of humor and a charm that was unique. Another thing he had was a knowledge of the earlier years of the club that was second to none. Unfortunately a lot of that is probably lost forever now. May he rest in peace.

I was stunned to hear the sad news about Denis's sad passing. the last time we spoke was at John Donlons funeral and he was in great form as I dropped him back at his house and he was looking forward to coming back to matches again.. tragically it never happened. from my early days goin to matchs twenty yrs ago he would have bein the first face I would have recognised. a great character,superb salesperson and fundraiser he is a big loss to not only longford town but the greyhound track as he was involved with them as photographer with them for 40 yrs until he retired in 2006.

Was just chatting to somebody there about the half time draw and its legendary prizes. Apparently the first prize one week was sixteen concrete slabs. Another one I recall was "an electric kettle...a very good make I'm told". Great times. RIP Denis.
