I would like to see a few under19's get a run in this game and go out and play some football. They deserve to be given a crack at first team football after the season they have had and a few of the senior squad players need some pressure on them to perform or be dropped.

Limerick 3-0 Cork

Handy win and some nice football played. Delighted Collins, Brossie and O'Leary got the goals. The way we played today is the way we should always play and not panic if we concede.

Played some nice stuff today, nice to see some of the young lads.
Delighted to see Cian Collins score pity he had to go off injured though.

Ridiculous thing to say based on an EA Sports Cup game with five or so of the starting XI on the bench including their goalie. Main point is, though, it's the Cup. League Cup. Not even the FAI Cup. Cork will struggle this season but they're far better than a 3 - 0 loss to Limerick.

As said above, though, shows what freeflowing football can do. Pity we'll be back to caveman football when we get to Wexford.

Don't think the cork fans would agree with that. The kind of performance they put in today is exactly the kind of ones they have been putting in recently. That was basically their starting back 4. Colin Healy, Shane o Connor, Vinny Sullivan, turner and lordan would all be in or around their first team. Duggan, Purcell, o Neill and Horgan where on the bench alright but they still started strong enough. They are a different team attitude wise to last season and as I say most cork fans would agree with that. They haven't replaced cummins either who was the main difference for them last year.

Nice to see that we can actually pass it to each other...great goal by Brosnan, Collins looked lively before he went off, Guthrie doesn't look too comfy with the ball, Gamble was good

Lordan has played exactly once in the league - as a sub on Friday.

Ok sorry, one player was not regularly in or around the first team.

Was it Scullys tactics or the players attitude that won the game yesterday regardless of the opposition.
I have seen all of Limerick Citys and Cork Citys home games so far this season and i would def say that Limerick are in a far better shape than Cork City.

Surely you would have had to have been in 2 places at once at some stage for that to be true.

He would have had to have been in and around 1987 to have seen any of Limerick Citys home games. :p

For thr last 2 seasons their.fixtures have never clashed, for the 2010/11 season i had season tickets for both clubs and missed no home league matchs. This season have only CCFC season ticket but still going to Jackman Park, was their for Longford game last Friday night and will be in Turners X for Fridays home game against Monaghan, if u check out both clubs home fixture dates u will see that both clubs have no league game on the same date, i enjoy LOI football.

That is mental in fairness......Must be a bit of let down having to go from Turners Cross one week to Jackman the next.

Madness, does anyone know if this is deliberate by the fixtures body ? (unlikely levels of organisation IMO) or just coincidence. I have heard of non league clubs asking (and receiving) not to have home fixture clashes with local league clubs in England, to catch a few fans who don't travel away with league sides. It works also, my local non league side here will have maybe 30 or 40 more through the gate when the local Championship side, Peterborough United, are away, which is worthwhile on an average attendance of around the 230 mark.

Wouldn't have thought this was the set up between Limerick and Cork though.
