According to Spillages latest piece on Citys season crumbling before our eyes, Noel talks to Monaghan born Brendan Hackett who is one of the countries leading sports psychologists and he told noel that Citys latest slump is understandable.
"Its a short term thing and its important to recognise it as such. Its got nothing to do withthe manager Pat Dolan and its no reflection on the players either, but Cork are in a valley period after the peaks they reached in Europe" explained Hackett who spoke to Noel from Athens where he is working with Irelands Olympic athletes.
"Its impossible for Cork City to sustain the level of performance they showed in all their Intertoto Cup matches and that consumed a lot of energy. This has taken its toll on the players and their schedule since then has been unfair too. The body is built to respond to excesses, the mind knows it too and we produce adrenaline but you can only go to the well a few times and then you become shattered. Its a mental, emotional and physical thing and Cork would appear to be in this short-term valley period"

Well thanks for clearing that up Noel, looks like we might just win the league after all, if only we can get out of this valley.

Pat should seriously consider resting players in this case. Don't think Gamble, Nwankwo of Billy are in a valley. Last time I looked anyway.

Of course we are in a valley...!

Last time I checked, it is called the Lee Valley..........

I reckon Spillage should be brought in and Dolan sacked.
Spillage knows which players can win us the league, his outstanding tactical nous and deep understanding on phsycology can get us to the champions league group stages, and his uncanny ability to pick out 3 things in every game that make the difference, means he is the Messiah we have been looking for.
Come on Brian, get the finger out, sack that chancer from SPA and bring in the Chelsea man!
