And live on the news. He thanked all the fans from all the clubs who supported them. He (as you said) thanked Pat Dolan for pointing out the strengths of irish football and championing its cause. Fair dues to the man!

Fúck Ollie Byrne. I hope he comes into the Horseshoe when he's in town this time, we'd like to CONGRATULATE him.

Fair play to Ollie Byrne. That was nice of him. EL united in Europe.

Dolan on Newstalk at the moment bigging up Ollie

Made a good point. He says Shelbourne's windfall won't make much difference, as other clubs can't compete with them for players anyway.

Fair play to Ollie Byrne my ars*..what a load of rubbish. Its easy to be nice when your club has just qualified for the next stage of the champions league and earned around 13 trillion yo yo's.Buts its another thing being nice when you are a goal down at Turners X or at the Brandywell on a Friday evening in a league match.I dont think some of the people on here that are congradulating this tw*t know about his carry-on over the last few years up and down the country.I agree its great for the league but i just hate the fact its that football club. When Ollie Byrne sticks his finger up at one of you Saturday week will you be shouting back "well done in Europe"?.

No wonder people think CCFC fans are tossers. You may not like Ollie Byrne, but for the 1st time in his life he showed some humility.

Im sure he will get a great 'welcome' in the Horseshoe.

Ollie Byrne's a cnut. I'd be happy for Shels if it wasn't for him.

As RedX said, it's easy for him to be nice when they are doing well in the champions league. We'll see what he'll be like on Saturday week if City fans have a go at him or if Dolan has a go at him or if god forbid the ref doesn't take his bribe and City were to actually beat the cheating thugs!

Lucky for us we've the most likeable manager in the league and it was easy for other clubs to wish us well!

Ollie Byrne is the driving force behind the success of Shels.
We may not like him but I doubt too many Shels fans care.

People don't seem to get sarcasm these days unless you stick some sort of smiley after it.
I have to take picture cards down the pub with me now so that I can hold up a picture of the appropriate expression after each sentence

Shels' money going up in smoke?:)

Didnt see it myself but did he seem genuine or he is so obsessed that in his Clubs final hour he had to have a Patsfansesque obsessive dig at Dolan?

so, the thug has added hypocrisy to his list of vices. I don't believe anything he says anyway

Well I have to say fair play to Pat Dolan aswell. I thought he'd spend the day getting his usual bitter digs at Shels in but he proved me wrong, he was very complimentery to men who he obviously doesn't like and that shows he's a decent skin, he got a bit of respect from me for his attitude on the panel anyway. Also everything he was saying about belief is spot on, I wish more people in this league had his attitude. It's that attitude that is behind him being the most successful Irish manager ever in Europe.

fair play to dolan -for his remarks. you could see how much it meant to dolan and collins - they have all been fighting for the league for years.i have guys in work who were all surprised with shelbourne but all questioned why rte didnt show our euro games. we still have this republic dublin syndrome where everything that gets shown comes from dublin but that has more to do with rte been to tight to pay the expenses to show game down here

ollie byrne was on ireland am this morning there was a fella with him and he said lets make the game next wed a dublin verses spain game ollie said no because there was a cork lad at the game the other night and he had a spare ticket and he handed it back to sell on i think cork is getting great publicity from all this
