Would LOVE to live in
Top of the list is Maynooth, miss the place so much. Lovely houses, nice distance from the City and lovely during the summer! Big bonus - Liffey Valley and Blanch are close by for all my shopping needs!
After that -
Clontarf
Stoneybatter/Smithfield - purely because I have good memories of both.
Galway is one I'm working on - if the job takes me there then hopefully someday!
Letterkenny is buzzing but would be a pain in the a.ss for travelling home to Longford
HATE living in
Donegal Town - too quiet, no shops, crap transport system!
Would hate to live in
Ballymahon - no offence to people from there, just have a phobia of the Town.
Roscommon - neighbours and they are always blowing about their great GAH team - Where are they now I ask??
Enfield - full of people who are mixed up as to where they come from - is it Meath? Is it Kildare ? Or am I a wannabe Dub?

On three side's around the village it's Kildare, the village is only just in Meath my retirement home/building site is Enfield but in Kildare, have got a Meath postal address but until the house decide's to skateboard a mile and a half down to the bottom of the road I will alway's put Kildare as my address.
Next big step i'll have to take is to move back to Ireland and start living in the place. Nice place to go for a pint when Kildare play Meath.
look, this is all i'm saying. My own personal impression from the people I meet (the ones actually from Kildare - the place isn't so full of 'outsiders' as people seem to think.. and your parents being from wherever doesn't make you less from the place; neither of my folks are from longford) is that they are not as friendly as i would expect generally from people. I put across this impression not to stir things up but only because it is exactly the same reaction that i tend to get from people in similar situations as myself here. If you don't agree, go and ask a few 'outsiders' around the towns some time. And that's another thing, why is there so much emphasis put on the fact that you are an outsider here anyway? I stick to my original opinion, it's not a total washout of a place but it is a less desireable home than a lot of other counties.
Re the direct comment about kildare town's distinctive odour.... apologies for offence caused. It is true but it was more of a by the way comment. Longford has similar problems with the meet factory and C&D in edgeworthstown if i recall correctly
Magoo yer still more then welcome to call around next time i'm home for a cup of tea and some kimberly biscuit's. It's right on the N4 for when yer heading back on trip's to Longford. BTW are yer any good at putting slate's on roof's. ;)
Surely the latter......dont see any Kildare Co.boundary & before ye all get animated,.......surely it's better than the alternative.....M***** ,FFS.....
Good luck to Kerry at the weekend Dav:D

I thought that by the time you finish adding extentions and the like you will be able to have a Wicklow address for one end of the house and be able to join a concerned residents commitee to reroute Orange walks for the other side.

Bray in the early 1990s was great, I remember Malahide being good too. I’ve never really rated Ringsend or Sandymount too much myself.

Well, I'm afraid to say the ones across the road over here all look like Jabba the Hutt on a hen night. Not saying that's a bad thing, of course...

Instead of having ''Failte go Cill Dara'' at the gable end to da crib, i'm gonna have ''you are now entering free Enfield''.
They'll be no Keepak feet marching down my street.
