was reading about the ucd game and the criticism of byrne at the back. corkcityfc.ie have an interview with pat dolan where he explains that byrne was training at 6.30pm, started work at 8pm, did a twelve hour shift, got on a bus to dublin at 10am and played against ucd that night. pat described him as his 'hero', despite not playing a great game.
i just feel this proves that fans never know the whole story when it comes to players and their performances. to be honest i've never seen byrne play, but surely we need to give players a fair chance before dismissing them as being MSL standard?
