I'd say he's ****ed off that Keegan got on ahead of him against Vaduz the other night

it was certainly a strange decision to bring on keegan insted of franncis!

thought matthews should have played the outfield players that played against finn harps!baker and francis are a good combination.

by the way i hear that paisley is out for six weeks and sheridan for three (if i rem what my source said to me!)

I'd say Seanie will go to Dublin City. I can't see anyone else in the premier wanting him

It's the other way about. Paiso out for about 3 weeks (after the big 21 from Vaduz Stood on him on purpose) & Shero out for 6 weeks, hopefully pip will be back for Friday’s game

well according to todays people, darragh sheridan is out for 8 months, Paiso out for a few weeks and keogh out for a couple.

The reason for seans trasnsfer request according to the people is that Sean Francis cant get first team football.

you can understand that the man is annoyed he isnt getting to play! He proved last season he is basically our only striker who will score with the exception of dessie who can knock em in! its a big loss but we need to think about getting a striker who will score!

That has turned me against Matthews.

I'm a huge fan of Francis, don't ever think he has to prove himself to us.

Shocked about that one, top scorer last season, he knows where the net is, why did Mathews not bring him on against Vaduz, instead of bringing on Keegan, who didnt even make the trip to the away leg, very strange, but at least Francis has shown what he thinks of it all....

i think it was the height advantage at the back that made keegan the man to come on, sad to se sean go. always did his best in red n black.

1. Turning down 30K for a striker that doesn't score.

2. Not spotting that one of our midfield players is a walking disaster.

3. Signing Paul Keegan when he could no longer do a job at this level.

4. Our best player from last season Brian Mc leaving, then not leaving under dubious circimstance.

5. Persisting with a front 2 with one goal between them all year.

6. Top scorer from previous season ignored in favour of "cole & yorke", prompting him to leave.

These developments are pointing in one direction.

Not really walking at the moment....

Some points I agree with - 2, 5 and especially 6. Darragh seems to be one of those players that every player, coach and manager in the league rates, but not the fans. Why that is I have no idea, as I think he's shít. The treatment of seanie a disgrace (and again strangely not the first manager that hasn't seen what the fans do).

One's I don't agree with putting on the manager.
1) The management wanted to take the money, committee turned it down. I would agree that was ridiculous, said so at the time despite him actually playing okay then. Fact was only 1 or 2 (depending on who you believe now) of the committee voted to take the money.
3) In hindsight that may be true, and personally I was never convinced by Keegan even at his "best", but Bohs fans pretty píssed off that he left even before Doyle started acting up.
4) Ultimately we don't know what went on behind the scenes for sure, despite our shared source being pretty reliable. However, he has not been close to best defender this season, let alone best player.

Granted, the boards were probably more responsible for the turning down of the silly money for Eric. Not being privy to the goings on there, I don’t know for sure. We never really heard how much input Mathews had into that decision. I think if he had said "yes this is a ****ing unbelievable offer for a non scoring striker" then surely the board would have to back the manager. Lavine being his player as much as he is JH's. No?

As for Keegan, if you look back over the threads here, I think the majority thought it was a bad signing at the time. Now, we have been proved right over the manager. This is in no way a gloating session, but if we all spotted this and he didn’t, I don’t know…

McGovern, right I’ll admit that I don’t know the background to this, so I’ll take this back ‘till I know more.

Macy

Suppose the Avril thing is another of those we don't know the full story. However, certainly around the time the clear impression was it was the board that turned down the money, even if Lavine was playing okay at the time. Regardless, the board should've seen the business sense of that, and we all know the high esteem Lavine is still held in buy sections of the crowd despite now having more poor seasons than good for the club.

No doubt Keegan has turned out to be a poor signing, and we'll just have to wait and see what the next spin to come out on the McGovern story. Maybe just the kick up the arse he needs this season.

Anyway, the rumours circulating may mean debates like this are academic...

have yo say spot on there macy,Mcgovern came on last night and did well. if he is leaving the club then he's in the shop window and its in his interset to play well.

keegan wasn't the most inspired signing i'd agree there, but as bad as things get we should stay positive.

sad to see sean go, maybe it will all blow over....

Wasnt at the game last night so cant comment on the performance, but selling Sean Francis would be a disgrace. To Kildare County? He could still do a job for a number of Premier outfits. I hear Digger and Murphy were arguing amongst themselves, i think thats more of a sign that they care more than anything else. But its all going wrong, and no one seems to have a clue how to stop it. I dont think a change of manager would help things, that'll leave us even more in the doo-doo...

Im not campaigning for a change of manager with what I was saying earlier on. At least not now. Im more saying that some of the criticism is warranted. Were in a hole at the moment and it appears to be getting worse not better.
The squad that we have should be better than second from bottom. It’s the biggest and on paper at least, the best squad we ever had. And its surely better than any that Kenny ever had.
I’ll support them 100% when im at the games as I know most of the people here will do. The thing is, at what stage is it too late for him to turn things round?

Strength of the squad is all relative I suppose - every other squad has progressed, with perhaps Pats now being the exception. Not only Bohs and Shels full time, now Drogs and Cark are as well, with Derry and Waterford following - relative to everyone else we've probably gone backwards (even if we're going forwards in terms of the squad year on year, nominally).

A couple of things,
Keegan = Terrible signing and not required
Darragh Sheridan = Fcuking useless

Last nights team looked very settled at the back and front and centre midfield was pretty good.No width what so ever.Shane Barrett gave 110% last night but he has no left foot and i think he'd agree with that.Alan Kirby goes awol for to long in games and drifts in field to much which bunches everything up so when we are in possesion our options are limited.
Alan Matthews has to take some of the flak for what's going on at the moment. He could not be faulted for last night but he persists with players that any blind man will tell are not good enough.Murphy's form has dipped so here is my suggestion for the team.
Digger,
Garto, Paiso, Barry, Dillo
Martin, Fitzy, Vinny, Pruns
Lavine, Baker

Subs : Barrett, Spud, Pip, Dempsey, Kirby and hold on to Brian Mc & Francis

I dont know the full details of the Francis thing but from what i can gather, it's Francis that wants to go, rather than Mathews wanting rid of him. Alan Mathews has said before that he doesn't want to keep anyone that wants to leave, McGovern has decided he wants to stay and fight for his place, just hope Seanie decides similar, it could be sorted out yet, but to be honest the only way is down for Francis from here, he's 32 years old and getting slower. Players shouldn't throw tantrums because they're not picked, even if they are frustrated its up to them to show why they should be in the team

its up to them to show why they should be in the team

i think his goals from last season did that, thats what most people think. i personally don't want players at the club who don't want to be their, who does ???

but i do have time for sean and when given 90 mins a few times in a row i feel he can do a great job for the club. up front or on the right.

Was in England for the weekend and couldn't make the game(thank christ from the sounds of it) but then i come home to learn that sean francis the man who won us the cup last year is leaving. WHAT THE FCUK?
I cannot blame him for wanting to go he needs first team football but i have one question. Why isnt alan matthews giving him that? Francis is a legend he is god, given his game he could be the man to get us out of trouble but its looking like another managerial master stroke by matthews is gonna see francis leave. Why oh why?
Seanie if you do leave i wanna thank you for the 100% commitment you gave every time you wore our jersey. Thanks for the goals thanks for cup and most of all thanks for the memories. Francis you are god a living town legend. Best of luck with which ever path you choose. We will never forget you.

Once again we hear the standard Alan reaction that he wants to keep the player but the Sean dos'nt want to stay. This is as usual trotted out with a reminder from the club that players are not wanted who do not wish to play for the club. Surely the club must at some stage start asking WHY do players who gave hugh service up until recently now wish to go. Regardless of what Alan says it is because they feel hard done by this season in relation to team selection. In relation to young players it is because Alan made it very clear to them that they were not part of his plans. I am fed up of the s--t being put around castigating players to justify bad man management within the club. What happened with Brian McGovern was wrong, what happened with Adrian Murphy was wrong, what is now happening with Gary Murphy and Sean Francis is wrong. No wonder spirit in the camp is crap with players wondering who is next for the chop and subsequent public denouncing.
Negative! Negative! Negative! Yes I agree what is happening within the squad is very negative and what we say here only reflects that negativity. Retaining the ostrich tactic of head in the sand and everything is rosy in the garden does not help in the long run.

seans problem is one on one and not a whole squad issue, gary murphy is a talent but is he ready for first team yet ?????

Obviously Skipper was'nt playing for Rovers at Inchicore then when Adrian netted during the short time he was on. As regards Gary he should have been released on loan earlier so that his game could develop while he remained a Longford Town player. Alan's ludicrous tactic, of denying him football elsewhere, will eventually lead to his permanent loss as it did in Adrian's case.
By the way how old is Skipper? If he is over 30 he will fit into Alan's youth policy and could be signed to bolster the defence. :D
