Cheers in advance.

Usually it is advertised in the star the Monday before kick off and out the wednesday or that but no sign yet.
Star one was available at the LOI launch last week and will be in the paper this week. As of last night Mark McCadden wasn't sure which day

Read the stars the other day very surprises to see Sligo in 4th! They had Shamrock rovers as Champs and Pats runners up
I don't see Sligo on top 2 either

I don't see pats doing as well as everyone predicts.

Thoroughly surprised with the 16 page pullout in the Mirror today. 15 pages of premier review, and 1 page about Finn Harps. Clearly there's only one club worth talking about in the First Division this season ;P

Might as well not include the First Division if that's how they cover it. That goes for The Star as well.

I was in Limerick on Tuesday doing a few interviews.. and offered them (Mirror) a few hundred words and didn't even get a reply

Thought The Star guide was barely mediocre. No First Division previews in the paper itself that I could see either which is a new and disappointing development.

Sorry lads but there is no glamour in the First Division anymore with us gone.

I was very disappointed that the irish sun didnt have their usual pullout preview to the new season.. mirror preview was impressive if you were a prem div side but as for the 1st div...

The whole lot was thoroughly depressing and did nothing to attract new fans if you ask me.

I don't know. I thought the Star's guide was reasonably good. 48 pages is a fairly decent size too.

but the stars effort up to last year used to be 64 pages long... I was disappointed with the amount of first division coverage in that mag compared to previous efforts!

Didn't get the supplement the last couple years, so didn't realise it used to be bigger with more First Division coverage. On that basis, I can see why people would feel a bit let down by this year's effort

Didn't see if any of the other (non-Star) guides were PFAI? They used to be generally more reliable in a factual sense. Star Guide looked good, but far too much general guff and too little informed club info - and I'd agree, way too little on Div !.
PS: Can a Mod fix the typo in the Thread title, please. I go cross-eyed seeing that all the time!!!

I know last year there was more information on the first division teams when doing their preview ie they had a player to watch for each first div team but this yr it went out the window!

Did the Sun have a guide? Agree the standard of the guides was poorer this season, The Star looked ok but poor enough inside, The Mirror was just a pullout nothing special, didn't see any from The Sun unless it was out before Friday, all had way to little on First Division

never found the magazines any use, always glance over it and throw it away. The stars is usually the best of the lot

I suppose it's not in their interest to attract new fans. Do the FAI give any money towards these pre season guides?
For the amount of us that actually attend LOI games we actual get a pretty decent pull out. In total maybe 30,000 on a good night attend games at a guess. The first division is always a disgrace though and it wouldn't take much to ask even a fan of every club to put together something a page long about the team etc....
