Low-key friendly in Ferrycarrig tonight in which Bohs ran out 2-1 winners after both sides made plenty of changes at half-time. I understand that Shane Keegan will be finalising his squad after tonight's match. Wexford started 4-5-1 with Graham Doyle, Brian Nolan, Karl Kehoe, CJ Browne, James Dermody, Shane Dempsey, Patsy Malone, Neil (?), Arnie (?), Muzzi Mullen and Tom Elmes up front on his own. First half was more competitive than the second and Tom Elmes, after five was just unable to reach a through ball and then, stretching a bit, was unable to guide a header from a corner while free at the far post. After fifteen, Bohs first chance came when their forward got a touch on a cross but it fell neatly into Graham Doyle's arms.

After twenty-five, Bohs had another chance when they won two consecutive corners in the Youths penalty area but again, it fell neatly for Graham Doyle to collect. After 30 minutes, a Bohs volley from twenty out was saved acrobatically by Graham for a Bohs corner. With ten to go, Tom Elmes had Wexford's best chance when he turned clear of the Bohs centre-half but his left-foot shot was parried by the Bohs keeper. Just on half-time, Bohs had their best chance of the half when a Bohs forward was able to take a touch to control a cross but he then volleyed over from about fifteen out. Nil-nil at half-time with few enough chances and both sides trying to keep possession but unable to break down the defences in front of them after bouts of keep-ball.

Wexford made eleven changes at half-time including Mark Phelan, Jamie Scallan, Shane Clarke, Shane Nolan, Eric Molloy, Danny Furlong, Sean Corcoran, Tomas Croke and three more, including a reserve keeper. Bohs also made a number of changes and made a few more as the secnd half went on. Wexford didn't really settle into shape and gifted two goals to Bohs in what was a poor enough half with, after five, the Youths defence failing to clear a header and allowing a Bohs forward to volley home for 1-0. After fifteen, bad marking at a corner allowed a Bohs forward to drop a looping header right into the top-left hand corner for 2-0. Halfway through the half, Wexford got one back when a break down the right and a good cross found Danny in the middle who volleyed home off the left-hand post for 2-1. Rest of the match was pretty mediocre with an effort from Eric Molloy who beat a Bohs defender inside the box but then screwed his shot wide being Wexford's best chance of an equaliser. 2-1 to Bohs at fulltime.

Best for Wexford in the second half were Danny Furlong, Shane Clarke who is a lively left back, Shane Nolan and Eric Molloy. Bohs best players were a flyer of a right wing in the first half and a very useful number 10 (Pete (?)). About 60 at it.
