Embedded videos problem...

Maybe it's just me but lately I have been have an issue with watching videos on the site

Where about 2/5ths of the video seems to be missing this is only on Firefox and it is fine on IE but i generally use Firefow to browse...

Is this what you're talking about? Same thing for me with Chrome & FF. Just tried IE, which I never use, but it's the same as the other two.

Is it in a first or last post by any chance? That's why I suggested adblock, it looks like an ad overlaying a flash video.

It is an Ad covering the first and last post, however, it's just blank space overlaying the ones in between now. This was happening before I messed with adblock too.

The blank space is caused by the ad overlay, so if AdBlock isn't blocking it, something else must be?

Something has to be blocking it, but I've no idea what. Strange that it's on the ones between the first and last posts where there are no ads though.

XP-Most recent versions of Chrome & FF. Have IE8 also, but rarely use it.

Edit: Just to add something here. If I'm responding to a post in the video thread and I preview my response before posting, I can see the complete videos in the thread. Something up with the embed code?

...Nope, still an overlay. I did notice though that when I first post the video or I edit the post, I can see the whole thing, but when I revisit the page, it's back to an overlay.

I'm the same (though I picked them up in the past few years, not being as old as you. :) ). Have all the albums on original vinyl (and one on original tape) and a couple of singles too.

What was different between the first and second edits? Did the page reload before the first edit? The second?

It didn't reload before each edit was completed. However, it was fine once the edits were completed. When I return to the post, whether it's a return visit or just a refresh on the page, it's back to an overlay.

No, it's the standard vB theme. I've made it properly selectable in case that was causing a problem, you can choose it from the bottom-left.

Just a note here, I can now see the full videos with no overlay, with the exception of the first and last one on a page(no biggie).

It's an unfortunately side-effect of the youtube and ad embeds fighting over precedence I'm afraid, can't really do much about it. Sorry!
