Tánaiste Mary Harney said the Government was to invest an initial €7m in the National Institute for Networking and Electronics Research based at University College Cork.

This news was closely followed by an announcement that Johnson & Johnson subsidary Centocor confirmed plans today to build a new plant in Cork, employing 330 people.

It's not unreasonable to suggest that these investments are linked to the feelgood factor which surrounded the tremendous success of Cork City FC in Europe.
The Rebel Tiger roars again :D
