View Full Version : Has Anyone Won It All

I was thinking about this recently and have discussed it with a few friends and we can't think of anyone who has one every trophy available to a League of Ireland player currently.

League
FAI Cup
Setanta Cup
League Cup
First Division

There are lots of players with all bar one, players without the first Division or Setanta Cup for example.

I posted this on the City forum and we think we may have an answer in Jason Byrne. Can anyone confirm?

We're thinking if anyone has done it they would have needed to move around a lot. Derry and Sligo haven't won the league recently enough most likely and haven't won a Setanta, Bohs have no first Division, City have no League Cup in recent years, Shamrock have no domestic cups.

Most likely there have been players who have done something similar in previous years pre Setanta though

Not sure, this is the list of honours I have for him anyway.

2003, 2004 & 2006 Premier Division (Shelbourne), 2008 & 2009 Premier Division (Bohemians), 1999 FAI Cup (Bray Wanderers), 2008 FAI Cup (Bohemians), 2010 Setanta Sports Cup (Bohemians)

lads Jason Byrne has most definitely won every trophy possible in the league of ireland. in the 99/00 season he was part of the bray wanderers side that won the first division championship ahead of us that season. he only signed for shels in 03 season after being part of bray side that got relegated!

Fabio O'Brien??

He has won 4 out of the 5.

How many games does a player have to play to be considered a league winner ?

dont think so..just looked up wikipedia..

Jason Byrne first played for bray in 98/99 season winners that year were:wayside celtic. 1999/00 winners were st pats. since then shels won it in 2000 and last yr st pats so no its not the case..

Question I know in 2000/01 we played Kilkenny city that season in LSC how come the final was never played?

I just emailed the LFA. That would bug me not knowing. Though I'd say Dodge or The Boss may have an idea.

let me know how you get on bonnieshels with them.. I compile stats for LTFC and have that marked down as a game.. if that game is declared null and void I will have to change my records for that season and for player appearances!

Maybe the winner of that game was declared the LSC winner? Curiouser and curiouser. :)
