Good point that FAI will probably re-arrange it. Will try and get up to it anyway since I haven't been in the Carlise since we were relegated. Seen some Bray fans having a bit of banter with Gary Shaw on Twitter it will be his first game back there.

Just in case any of you missed it LTFC have been drawn away to Bray in the Leinster Senior Cup 4th round with all ties being played Feb. 29th, I know its a sh1t competition but id love to win it all the same.
Im afraid outspoken we dont have the history in the competition.. the furthest we have gone in that competition was in 1954 when we reached the final and lost to Shamrock Rovers..since then the nearest we got was in 1994 when we reached the semis and got beat by Dundalk..
Im happy with the draw as Bray have lost a lot of players.. interestin to see what reception Gary Shaw will get on his old ground!

They probably didn't want to pay €800 for a ref so just played it "behind closed doors". Can't blame them really. It seems they played three periods of 30 minutes so that'd be another reason why it wasn't an official game. Town won 2-1 apparently.

It wouldn't have mattered if it was Tony Cousins reffing it. Don't understand why it was put out that it was off, when it never was.
Austin Skelly scored twice for us.

Now thats a sly act to announce over Twitter that the game is off and play it behind closed doors, had they just stated their intention to do this I dont think fans would feel so done over.

It was Bohs' game. Town never announced it at all.

02/02/2012, 7:54 PM
Ye that's what I'm saying Bohs shouldn't have announced it over Twitter and their site if they were going to play it behind closed doors, even If they only decided at the last minute they should had just said it's been changed to behind closed doors fans wouldn't have minded as much, word always gets out.

Town played all right.. Gillespie looks way fitter than last season.. Crawley also played well for us along with Karl Bermingham..
Salmo missed a peno after ten mins .Shels goalscorers were Paddy Kavanagh and Brendan McGill. Mick Lee was taken off injured after getting an awful challenge. He was on crutches when I was heading for home..I cant wait to see Bermingham and Aussie up together up front as they will cause some serious damage to defences.
town team;
Hunt,Dowling,Lee,Hope,Deans,James,Gillespie,Salmon , Bermingham, Purdy,Crawley.Subs: O'Reilly for Hope, G Cronin for Lee,S Skelly for Salmon, A Skelly for Bermingham, J Morley for Gillespie, J O'Brien for Dowling.

Aussie was the biggest waste of time. If I was one of the oppostion defenders I would be getting a deckchair in atticipation. All Aussie did was hold his hands out in front of him and blame everyone else for not giving him a good ball. You could even see and hear the other players getting frustrated with his antics.
I would say on that performance, Aussie will not play this season

Id say we could see a Bermingham/Shaw or Bermingham/Purdy partnership this season

I like Aussie but I have to say a Bermingham/Shaw partnership sounds deadly.

Was at the game myself. Poor game. Town offered nothing in attack.
Crawley and Morley were poor.
Second half saw a new keeper, Gillespie, Kirby, James and another chap come on.
Town were much better, and had more possession. I thought James was good.
We seem to have a serious squad if they could stay fit.
Walsh was injured, was wearing a leg brace today.

According to Extratime the keeper was Craig Hyland and the others at HT were Daniel Purdy and Jamie Duffy apparently. I forget where he was for the last while. It seems Karl Keogh, formerly of Wexford Youths and Shamrock Rovers started in defence for us. A Dean Cosgrave also appears to have come on, an u19 player it seems

That's unfortunate. Would explain why we're looking at adding a couple. Is Mick Lee injured too?

Drove past Mick in Galway yesterday and he was limping very badly. Dunno what's wrong with him though or how long he'll be out for
