Sorry can't get a proper poll going , so it has to be like this:

So now that we know the group, Azzurri, ESP, Cro-Asia,
What are your expectations?

Please give a #. If you are reading this....

1. No Expectation! If we get out of the group it is gravy. If not, still gravy.

2. F-That! If we do not get into the Quarters it is a failure.

3. No chance we get out of the group. There, I said it.

4. Look, not to be negative, but, We have no chance to get out of this group. But we still will. Wow.

5. If we get 3 Vs the Croats we are in.
We will get points off Spain or Italy and we will be in.

6. I have a very odd feeling about this, 9 for ESP seems long. I think crazy things are in store for our group. That's all I am saying.

7. My expectations are just to enjoy myself and not worry about results, similar to #1 but why am I here.

8. Quarters.

9. We win it. Or Semis. Seriously I feel that.

10. Im just for drinking and having fun! That Billy Joel song remixed! Is that Jason Priestley from 90210 at the 3.20 mark? No offense if so! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjwEIsqQYxM

11. Who the Hell are Saint And Greavsie?

I'd be hopeful of snatching second. I'd be delighted with that and think it's a realistic aim. No point even going if it's to make up the numbers with a defeatist attitude. I'm not sure what number that is on your list but we have to think we can achieve six points from the Croatia and Italy games. It would be quite an achievement, I admit, but we've played both in recent times and have nothing to fear. Croatia finished second to Greece (a team similar to us) in qualifying and we've had two draws and a win against the Italians under Trap. Should have been two wins if it wasn't for the adrenalin rush of a potential last-minute winner causing us to completely lose our heads at the back. Even four points might do us if Spain romp home with nine. I think we'd actually do very well in a knock-out scenario. Nil-nils and penos all the way. :D

1/7 for me. I don't truly expect us to survive that group but I'm not drawn toward doomsaying either. Is my agnosticism showing?

I'll be a happy, giddy man if we can keep our record of first round progression going but won't be indulging the other extreme if we don't. Italy and Croatia, whilst capable of doing us, are nothing to fear. Spain are Spain but there's two places to play for. The 'last chance saloon' factor might have a positive effect on some of our old-stagers too ala Dunne and Shay in Moscow. One of the rival managers was trying (unconvincingly) to deny us our underdog's mantle in the papers today but it's a snug fit and we might get some wear out of it.

Lookin' forward to that post-january/pre-june major finals buzz already!

I like option four - no chance, but we still will.

Why is there not a simple "We win it" option? Why be so negative by adding "Or Semis" to it?
