Well it finished Cobh 1- 2 Man U.
All in all it wasnt a bad game, though i am certainly glad i didnt pay to see it. Cobh had alot of chances and certainly put a decent fight up. That said, the 'Man U' team were full of nobodies that even the Man U 'fans' hadnt heard of. The only player of note, asode from Keane, was Luke Chadwick (who i could have sworn was playing with Reading last season).
Anyway, to see a full TX of red Man u jersyes was sickening, but to add insult to it, the shed was crammed, yet soundless and motionless. The only sound they made was to say "KEANO etc" when he was going off.
Keane was taken off on abut 60mins.
Cue a good 3000 people to leave there and then.
Football fans? Not a hope. These people are muppets. I was delighted when i shouted "Fu*kinll, Roy is coming on for Rams" as about 50 were in front of me, and they all stopped, looked around expectedly, then realising, continued to the gate.
Met a few fellas in the pub later, all wearing the new Man U strip (which the team werent actually wearing). Good game i said, to which the response was ' well it was all about Roy wasnt it, i left as soon as he went off'. Why i asked, answe being, irish football is rubbish, and i knew none of the players on the pitch. I took my leave quickly rather than get into an argument with these neantherdhals.
Such a pity. It could have been a great occasion.
