Looking out at the p1ssing rain tonight, I felt like reliving the atmosphere of that brilliant evening in July when we had "the first victory by an Irish soccer team against a Dutch XI on Irish soil". (Irish Times)

shouldn't that have been "the first victory by an Irish club side" as opposed to the first victory by an Irish XI? I seem to remember us coming back from a goal down (scored by a little chap called Tahanata) to beat the Dutch 2-1 at Lansdowne Road? Eoin Hand was still the manager but I can't remember if it was the 1980 Euro qualifiers or the 1982 World Cup Qualifying campaign (when we also memorably beat an amazing French side 3-2 at Lansdowne Road). Well I'm off for my afternoon nap now!
