everyone knows that the oscar traynor in the limerick league is very low on the agenda as far as players are concerned(as well as managers).
a lot of players view the week-ends of oscar t matches as a welcome break,maybe go out for a few beers without having to worry about a match in the morning.
as for the managers,they view it as a hindrance to them,particularly if they have a big representation on it.
i can lead to maybe injuries etc. to club players which they could do without.

I am tuned in you seem to make excuses for poor management i would say Oscar Trainer is an important competition to some people in limerick having a manager that tried and failed more than once should not be given another chance to fail again, was jason purcell asked ? i doubt it, shane fitz and gerry mc mahon havent managed a premier side and aidan ryan has lost two finals that should have been won.

Unfortunately a lot of players in Limerick dont see the oscar traynor as a worth while competition. A lot of them make themselves unavailable to the manager.

were fairly strong last year I don't know of anyone who refused to play for Aidan

AFAIK the groups are the same as last season with the games reversed i.e. whoever the team was away to last season they are at home to them this season. First round must be played before the 2nd round of the F.A.I. Junior Cup, i.e. before 16th October.

ok..something on subject after that little(or large!!) episode.
a lot of leagues take this comp.seriously,but not so limerick.
so what would be a suggestion to make it more appealing(they have tried introducing suspensions,to get players to play, but that never worked).

Heard today that the squad is picked and the players have been notified the first game is home to the Clare league on Wednesday 5th of October in Jackman Park.

What clubs are players from,if you heard they were notified surely you know who some of them are?pike will be well represented or will they,Alan barry I believe wasn't a happy camper after last year,I heard he was asked not to travel to Sligo for the pike game as Aidan Ryan wanted him for the final that Sunday,low and behold he was dropped.it will be the usual auld suspects with aidans squads anyway,always a few very strange decisions?I suppose he'll want them training again on fri nights after two nights training with their clubs.
