Limerick Division 4 2011/12 [Archive]

Only 8 teams in this division. Have heard there will be an extra round of fixtures and two cups but don't know how true that is.

Anybody want to take a punt at the favourites. How are teams getting on in pre-season?

To be honest, I think any team has a chance of winning it, Moyross have got 4 or 5 great signings so ill back them for promotion and cup final anyway.

Ya it's there for anyone. I've heard Murroe are expected to be very strong but that's just hearsay at the moment. Haven't heard a thing about how teams are getting on in friendlies though.

If they were very strong would they have got relegated? Well we (Moyross) only had one friendly so far up in Prospect, good run around for us but were well beaten, what about ye Jof?

Murroe where weak last season but heard they have had a lot of changes in their team. We played cals B last week and won 4-1 but lost 4-2 last night against Bridge Utd B. A lot of new players so still trying to find our strongest 11. Hyde had good days and bad last year and I always though Athlunkard B where stronger than the table showed.

Yeah athlunkard were good, but we beat them 3 - 0 and as you know we wernt very strong last year. Heard cals are falling apart.

Good result Jof well done, We won 1 0 with a penalty rightly given, you were right Murroe a good strong side tough to beat but i guess we just played better and in the end deserved the win, How was yer game?

Ya a 1-0 win over Murroe was a very good result. I only saw the first half of our game but it was a mad one. We went 1-0 up, then missed a penalty that would have made it 2-0. Then they went up and we scored an OG to make it 1-1. Within two minutes we made it 2-1. They then took the lead scoring a goal and a penalty to make it 2-3. A few minutes after that we went up and scored again to make it 3-3. I got updates on the second half, we scored to make it 4-3 but within 5 minutes they made it 4-4. We then got the winner with 5 minutes to go to leave it at 5-4.

Interesting to know what Lisnagry where like. I have the feeling though Northside where caught for players with the clash with their A team. A lot of lads play both A and B with them so the result might not be a fair reflection.

Ya id say it was a great game to watch for neutrals, havent heard much about Lisnagry but a 6 - 0 win, great way to start the season but then again as you say maybe Northside were short numbers because they finished last season strongly beating us too. Not alot of chances in our game for both teams, both defences played very well, we got a well deserved penalty, put away well right in the top corner. Have to praise Murroes keeper, he was excellent when he needed to be, our keeper pulled off a great save from a free kick at 0 - 0. Any fixtures for next week Jof?

We went 1up, missed a penalty, an open net and 3 one on ones. We should have had it over before half time. Athlunkard took over in the second half and deservedly took the 3 points in the end.

Free weekend?

Everyone is entitled to a free weekend. I always thought you had to put in for it before the fixture was made, obviously not.

Ya Jackman our A team will have played 5 home games and 1 away after Sunday. Granville I think will have played 6 away and 1 home too as far as I know. Its crazy.

We just got a call at training Thursday night to say it was mistake and Lisnagry where taking a free weekend. Not much we could do about it really. I have heard of people being refused before because the fixture was already in the paper and told it was too late to ask for a free weekend.

Total joke of a ref. We had numerous free kicks turned away, Lisnagry last man back took out our player going through on goal, nothing was gave only a free. 30 seconds left, one of our players and a Lis player go for 50 50 our player clearly 100% wins the ball. He gets sent off and they get a free and equalise from it.

Total joke, why have refs something against Moyross??

refs are totally against moyross, you can tell by the way both there teams are top of there respective leagues, stop feeling sorry for yourself you cant win every game

Very hard to prove but i agree some refs are against some clubs from the start we played moyross away 2 years ago i went up to the ref with our match ball and he said tell your lads not to get involved with these scumbags ill deal with them that was before kick off if that's not bias i don't know what is

also on the otherside some refs are afraid of certain clubs and will not give any big decisions against them during games in case he upsets them or there supporters so it works both ways.

Exactly every club benefits and loses out from refs decisions at some stage just take the good with the bad

Oh no this ref, I cant say his name, he gave the other side EVERYTHING and gave us nothing, I was clearly hit in my "jewels" and nothing given, and studs should never be showing or foot up that high, thats a instant red card, I can name loads of situations where we were not given anything.

Ya we where delighted with the result, that and the Murroe result. They where both really tough teams. Should be a good a game on Sunday. I'll be missing it myself as I'll be in Dublin but I think it will be really close.

Ya it will be close no doubt, maybe a goal in it either way, or a draw is a big possibility. Yea we beat Murroe 1 - 0 first game of season, they were very tough. Very physical side.
