The European action has clearly been a distraction from the domestic game. I haven't seen a thread yet on this weekend's action. My own predictions for what they are worth is for Derry to go top tonight, Drogheda to win but I wouldn't write off Galway stirring things a bit despite some dreadful results of late. In the second tier, Shels should win comfortably. The other games are hard to call. Mervu could go above Waterford. Longford having slipped a bit need to beat Cork. A win for Limerick will be a good boost to get a top 2 place at the end of the season.

After a week living vicariously through other clubs, I'm glad to have a City game to follow this evening. Hopefully we can put pressure on our rivals.

I hope you can too :-)
As for us, win tonight and we're as good as safe...

I hope Limerick beat Mons. They deserved to win that 1-1 up in Monaghan. Would go if I could be in 2 places at once.

Well I have a season ticket. So, yeah, I suppose so. I don't think Limerick winning is going to change Shels winning the league, though. Too much ground to make up.

There's a good fella. I knew this day would come. :)

Looking forward tonight. Haven't managed to get to a game in weeks.

Yeah I was there. He wasn't used...as far as I can remember.

2-0 Harps against Youths. Blain curtis with both goals. Looks like a cracking player. Pulled out of nowhere in local football. 3 goals in 4 games I believe.

Half time at Tolka. 1-1.
Salthill have held their own in the last 15 min of the half. We should be out of sight at this stage though.

Joe Gamble sent off for Limerick - 3 yellow cards in 2 games so far for him.

I think Limerick's prospects have been massively overhyped. Denis Behan is rubbish!

Joe Gamble sent off for Limerick

No surprise, he continued to give away 4 or 5 frees after his yellow card last week as well.

Not a chance of Limerick going up with Pat Scully in charge.

Biggest cheer of the night was when Sean O Connor was taken off.

First mistake I've seen Dean Delaney make gave Salthill a 0-1 lead. (I guess the sun was in his eyes...) After that it was predictable stuff. The fourth goal was top class - great series of one touch passes to put Mulhall through who buried it.

We weren't particularly good tonight. The goal we conceded was a bit shocking and then I thought we were really lucky to get the free for the equaliser. Salthill held their own for the first half but the second half was quite comfortable once we took the lead. Keeping the 10 point gap was the main thing though and we managed that so happy days.

Have just spent the evening at Limerick vs Monaghan and it was a **** poor game. Limerick were atrocious and this formation that Scully plays 4-3-3 or whatever it is doesn't suit his players at all. Some very good Limerick players on the sideline (not injured)as well according to the hardcore down here.

Great crowd as well due to all kids attending summer camps being invited for the game but would doubt many will return after that.

Dundalk drew 0-0 in Derry. Nobody seems to have known it was on.

Seems that the reported hordes of stone throwers and bus brickers were also in the dark about the fresh targets visiting the Brandywell.

After being alerted by the civic minded press release by those gentle folk in one of the Hoops' Supporters Clubs, I came fully prepared with reinforced glass in my vehicle, a gleaming new Stab Vest and copious supplies of anti-thug pepper spray.

Much to my chagrin I only encountered the usual welcoming and good natured Derry fans interested in the football and banter and craic.

Dammit - Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

You think?! This is a St.Pats side doing well in Europe and a point off Sligo if they win their game in hand. I'd say Sligo were playing a pretty decent outfit. Both managers would probably have taken a point from this but would'nt say that in public.

Not saying that Pats are some ****e team but with Sligo being much fresher and at home and the form team, so should really have won on paper, Id say Mahon is alot happier with the point than cook who will surely consider it 2 pts dropped!

Poor game. Pats came looking for a draw and got it. Just sat back. After 30 minutes the game was dreary. The few chances Rovers had they didn't take. No fluidity to the game in the second half, despite pressure from Rovers. All in all, a point's not the worst but would have certainly have preferred 3.

I'll assume this is complete sarcasm!! The bloke is a disgrace!! I don't know what St Pat's have done to him, but i dread if this ******** refs a major season defining game involving ourselves!!

Would agree with you there but with Derry drawing no ground lost thank goodness.
A loss would IMO have been damaging to morale ahead of euro game .
That game might be on the players minds too, with all the work done by the fans it might actually be putting preasure on them for a result.
Still happy enough with a point.
