Experienced full back Matt Britton has been coaxed out of retirement to rejoin First Division title hopefuls Bray Wanderers.
The Bray native, now 30, hung up his boots last summer just three months into his contract with Kildare County, citing work commitments and the nightmare journey through traffic to Newbridge.
But Seagulls boss Pat Devlin has persuaded the defender, who won a League of Ireland crown with Dundalk in 1997, to re-sign for his hometown club.
Britton said: “I met Pat and he told me I was too young to give it up. He said I still had a lot to offer and the opportunity was there for me to come back.”
