her appeal is underway at the moment. Ive watched enough American documentaries on the issue at this stage but the simple question i have is, in your opinions is she innocent or guilty?

(a poll would be nice)

I say innocent, on the balance of probabilities. The prosecutor is an absolute chancer and handled this case very poorly. Its a strange one.

Released tonight. Awful inevitability about it.

Oddly always felt she was innocent for some reason and that the Italian prosecutors were desperate to get a prosecution at all costs. Anyway that's that over.

I don't agree. I've had an eye on this story since the start. I know there's talk she doesn't fit the profile etc. to commit a murder or be involved in something like that but I've always suspected she was not innocent. I think it's a terrible decision. Something happened that night in question. It's tough for the Kercher family.

I think it's a terrible decision.
If the DNA evidence was as shabby as was made out, it's not a terrible decision. You can't lock someone up for life because they maybe probably did it, but there's no real evidence. In that case, what's terrible is the police work, not the decision.

Also, we've a case where one person is dead and two others have, it seems, been wrongfully locked up for four years and yet we get nicknames based on the person's physical looks? A bit classless there, surely. (That's not necessarily a dig at SkStu, cos I know it's what many in the media called her)

Did everyone see the pre-written Daily Mail article on the guilty verdict being upheld that they accidentally published online?

The fabricated quotes and reactions are really living up to the "don't believe everything you read in the papers" mantra.

Reminds me of this (http://kill-or-cure.heroku.com/) page on all the things the Daily Mail has linked with cancer.

That's brilliant. In good news masturbation prevents cancer, in bad news oral sex causes cancer.

only seeing this now. Apparently it was a nickname she earned at a young age based on her soccer ability. When the media wanted to portray her as the villain in this it suited them to use it as something to tar her with. My use of it as the title was a bit tongue in cheek.

On the decision, it is without doubt the correct decision. After my original post i did some more looking into this case. Ruudy Guede's blood, fingerprints and semen were all over the place. There was a miniscule amount of Sollecito's DNA on Kerchers bra-strap. Knox was "guilty by proxy" and not a lot else. Knox and Sollecito claimed to have been at his gaff spliffing up and watching movies on his laptop. The Italian cops deleted the drive on his laptop and hey presto their alibi is gone. Weird. An absolute shambles by the Italians but i dont think the two were involved.

It is the Kerchers who have been messed around due to the ineptitude of the Italian cops and the prosecutor, Giuliano Mignini, who is an absolute disgrace.

But why all the lies at the start, an a laptop isnt an alibi, i reckon she is guilty

what lies did she tell out of interest? The laptop hard drive would have supported their story.

If you want to believe that it was a case of sex games gone wrong involving 2 privileged students and a petty thief conspiring to kill her roommate instead of the act of a loan killer who left his mark all over the place then go ahead!!

There is quite a lot of circumstantial evidence, re the mobiles and the knife found, The lies were when the other black guy (Lummunba) was first framed, thats she was not in the house and then the cleaning. Also the believe that Kercher was murdered by more than one person.
And again, a laptop doesn't prove anything!!!
Will be interesting to hear if we will ever get the chance to hear Guede's side of the story. Strangely quiet at the moment.
Either way Knox's behavior all throughout was strange, lucky that the millions pounds spent on PR worked for her in the end.
"So the outcome is that the poor black guy is in prison for killing Kercher, the white Italian guy from a respectable middle class academic family is innocent, and the white North American college girl is also innocent. Seems like a form of justice to me." - what one poster i read said on guardian website
