Anyone see it. Including a certain Irish group, you might just have heard of.

The lead singer is a boll*x, but Mr.Clayton still does it for me....
Embarrassing, maybe?

Some people were protesting (http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011/jun/24/glastonbury-2011-u2-tax-protest) against their hypocritical ways

Bono is indeed a boll*x. Him and Geldof are *****

Geldof I'll forgive for 'Live Aid', but yeah Hypocrisy is alive and well.
Though from a tax perspective these 2 aren't even nearly the worst culprits.

Ya maybe not still bad when Bono pretends to preach about helping poor people.

Watch this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aT7JC9U6lVA) about "Live Aid" and Bob, you don't have to believe it but its fairly damning

Ah I know, but the sentiments were real enough at the time which still works for me.

I'll have to disagree with you on that, anyway if you want to watch the full documentary its available here (http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/starsuckers/). Its not all about our Bobby, its mostly about "the celebrity obsessed media". Its a good watch.

Another documentary about Bob letting down a town in Ghana is here (http://www.worldwrite.org.uk/lettertogeldof/faq.html), haven't seen this one and don't know much about it. (You have to order it too actually)

two observations having seen a tiny bit - the mud, all these people walking around in the mud, in a situation better managed there than it ever is here but still a teetering disaster zone which leads me to one of the things I hate, nay despise, about festivals -the poverty tourism.

Secondly, just in relation to Bob, hands up who here ever did enough for any town anywhere that we ended up letting one down.

Thoroughly enjoyed the last hour of U2's set on Setanta.

Turned over to BBC and Zane Lowe ruined it the sap. What a pretentious wang gobbler.

Zane Lowe is an insufferable wang gobbler in fairness. Cant stand him on his Radio One show.

First hour of the set was excellent, 5 songs off Acthung Baby.

Thought it was an average performance, nothing special. Theres a touch of Las Vegas about Bono, he's going all a bit Liberace, he looked a bit overweight too. Larry Mullen looks like he's had enough and was just going through the motions, he looked like a man that didn't want to be there, I heard they were having a bit of a row about the setlist during the week.

It is a fairly feet planted in the middle of the road, big dumb radio friendly songs, play it safe, appeal to the masses, dont make then think, ever, territory alright.

However, the flipside, I run a small but perfectly formed, 120 capacity music venue in the East Milands, and we* put a band called Spotlight Kid on last November who on Friday night played the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury, and were featured on the broadcast, it was a sweet moment for us to see them on TV, and nice to have caught them before they go to the big rooms, which they may well do, they had 2 songs featured. Good band, and easy going ego less people also.

Here they are : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2kZCfEWsI4 and from Glasto :http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/festivals/glastonbury/2011/artists/spotlightkid/#p00hsj8n

Raised on a diet of Ride, Curve, Chapterhouse and Slowdive by the sounds of it.

Always wanted to go to Glastonbury up till a few years ago, but don't think I could be bothered anymore. 170,000 people just seems like a nightmare to me think oxgen is bad enough with 80,000. And to have someone who is just basically a dancer headline the Pyramid Stage on the Sunday night is joke
