Oscar Traynor result to-night Cork AUL 0, Munster Senior league 2. An excellent result for the TSDL. One group game remains, TSDL at home to Cork AUL. TSDL can afford to lose by two goals and still go through to the knock-out stages. That 4-1 win against the Munster Senior league was so crucial for goal difference.

I think they were just after building fine dressing rooms in the past year or so !! Its a shame

they have a small bit of an underage system aswell so there will still be some form of football going on in mullinahone at least. would be a shame to have another rock rovers scenario, its shocking driving past there pitch on the way into carrick and seeing what was once one of the best set ups in the tsdl now a grazing field for ponies and horses

The fact that one man on his own was trying to run the club ultimately is what done for Rock Rovers.
Its a real pity, they gave an outlet for fella's to play football in Tipperary. The remaining players are now spread between Carrick and Piltown.
The grounds in it's current state is hard to look at.

rock rovers had some great youth and junior teams down the years. They had a brilliant youths team back in i think 2003 won the tipp youth league div 1 that year. Can remeber a young 15 year old michael coady back then just coming on the scene. They had a great junior team in 2007 when they won the division 1 league all good young footballers eg butlers, spudy, wayne cullen and had great experience in that team at the back and in center midfield. some bad eggs gave there junior team a bad name towards the end with ildisipline but i actually found them to be ok lads overall and eugene the lad who managed them was a gent. The lads are right passing the pitch is pretty disturbing when you think of some of the terrible pitches still being used in tsdl and one of the best now just abondoned. if memory serves me correct there was an astro turf and a bit of a stand (shed with roof) in the rock rovers ground. did another club pick up these or what happened them?

Everything there was sold the astro went to a GAA club up the country and all Metals were sold aswell.

lads i think if they erected a statue of eugene at the site of where the pitch is now or somewhere in carrick it would not be an over exageration. LEGEND!!

Does anyone know the rules of calling off a game in such short notice? Is it an FAI rule for all or just one that 'Cesaer' makes up along the way, like many others..information would be appreciated on this subject. Or does the rule depend on the club?

Cahir 0-0 Two Mile Borris
good aul match with borris playing about 80min of it with 10 men due to 2 very harsh yellow cards from the referee, harsh as your gonna see anywhere. But borris fought well with ten men and could have been up at half time only for last ditch defendin and good saves from the cahir keeper.
second half was all about cahir attackin but never looked like scorin, if the game went on for another hour, i dont think they would have scorin, borris seemed inspired so get a point, and a vital point is was. the back 4 for borris were outstanding with the keeper pulling off a few top drawer saves, reminded me of schmicheal at times.
As a famous treaty man said after the game, "twas the result of the century", a slight exageration maybe but who knows, if borris keep battling like they did today, it could be.

Ps, cahir club house, first time iv seen it, savage and fair play to them.

Saints came away from the Complex with a 3-1 win after extra time, didnt recognise a lot of the Town players, the right back, left winger and centre mid?? No Ted O Connor,Michael Quinlivan,Barry Ryan,David Mcgrath,Ronan Stanley for Town,Paul Tobin was a big loss for Saints also and losing Paul Breen at half time was a blow,an even enough contest probably shaded by Saints who looked more menacing on the attack,Town were down to 10 on the hour mark when Derek Loughnane was red carded,it looked like penalties but Town rearranged the defence in extra time and this proved to be a suicidal move,James Walsh dispatched a penalty in extra time that capped off a fine display especially after losing his international partner so early,he was constantly talking an organising and is definitely still a big player for Saints

Big win for saints today, though how they left the game go to extra time is unforgivable sloppy defending in injury time left town in . This game shud have been done and dusted early in 2nd half with saints well on top all over with the town keeper making 2 great saves to keep them in it but give town credit they hung in there but the end scoreline certainly reflected saints dominance and all this done without rafter / Connery / Tobin and losing breeno early reflects well of the strength in depth

I have to agree didn't recognise a lot of town players was looking forward to see the 2 new boys upfront but sadly they were well beaten by saints Center halves , special mention for raymie condone top class again !

i dont know where your going saying the game should have been done and dusted. neither keeper had very much to do and there were certainly not two great saves from town keeper to keep them in it. town were bad and had players missing but saints were pretty poor too. also jimmy hynes scored the equaliser for town so how does that fit in to him being well beaten by the saints centre halves??

well done to saints though, they got the job done as they usually do. i wont be too fast to write town off after what they did last year when nobody gave them a chance but i would be very worried for them. raymie condon is holding them together at the back but cant go on forever and the young players just arent ready, talented and great prospects they are but were physically rolled over on sunday. barnes and richie ryan are sorely missed.

Republican as a neutral and in the fortunate position of being able to support both Saints and Town as Tipp representatives i couldn't agree with you, both sides struggled to create a lot while Saints probably looked more potent when they did attack but the Town keeper never made 1 save in the game, like Wombat i certainly would not dismiss Town, they are league champions,to be fair when are they not league champions? I fancy Saints for Munster glory again but will be keeping an eye on Town if they can get bodies back for the Celtic game

your well entitled to your opinion stelling but i have been watching saints v town for a long time and saints never looked so comfortable and that was the opinion of 90% of the people at the game on both sides. and the town keeper did make 2 excellent saves 1 from a header at start of 2nd half.

I stand by my assessment of the game and as said in other post people see things differently and we are all entitled to an opinion , as for my view on jimmy Hynes I called it as I saw it he had no real input in the game yes he scored but that was handed to him on a plate by some woeful defending rather than as a result of a piece of skill. , I am not judging anyone on any one game but as said chalky was top class but to be fair was never really worked .
On a last note anyone who write town off at your peril there is a lot of good players there and with Ronan , ted and young McGrath to come back they will be there or there abouts at the end of the season I might be but I can t see young quinlivan playing again as he will be back with his gaa commitments .

So you didnt think Saints looked more comfortable when they won 2-0 up there last season without breaking sweat or when they beat them 3-0 three years ago in fai semi, the save from the header the keeper could have controlled with his chest and done a few keepy uppys, neither keeper was troubled for 90 mins

I hope there is no knee jerk reaction to this result as I believe town are a team in transition and you know football is funny u remember saints been beaten by sarsfields rovers in the tipp cup and going on to win the munster junior the same year
