Can't find another thread for him, I presume there is one so please merge

Looks like he could be following Alex Bruce and changing national team (http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/3645362/Irish-ace-could-play-for-States.html)

>>Insert retaliatory huff and traitor synonyms here<<

Two international sides linked with our detritus in a week, must be a sign that we're moving on up! Or maybe not..

The attraction might be one way in this instance though. How likely are the Yanks to be interested? Decent enough keeper but I'd have thought they, like us have better primary and secondary options.

To be fair he hasn't said anything incendiary there. The key line is this one:

"I don't know if Ireland know I have an American passport - but there is no way I am waiting to see if America will call me back again."

He'll get his chance with Ireland sooner or later, I'm sure, and the US have arguably got a better stock of goalkeepers than we do.

About 7 years ago I knew his dad was an American basketball player. Of course the FAI knows too.

For a minute there, I thought Worthington was after him.

There's no indication that the US are even interested in or keeping tabs on Randolph. He's pretty much just announced that he would consider playing for the US as he's eligible for them through his father and the Scottish Sun have tried to sensationalise it as having "sparked an international tug-of-war".

This would hardly be our greatest loss if it were to go through. Unlike the loss of Kieran Murtagh to Antigua & Barbuda!

The most relevant quote in that article is

Randolph, who has played at all levels for Ireland except the full side, said: "The next game is a friendly against Croatia in August and then we play Slovakia and Russia in September. "It is definitely my aim to be involved. I have got a bit of an advantage with our league starting before everyone else.

So the entire text boils down to "Yes, I'm qualified to play for the States, but I want to play for Ireland against Croatia in August."

Just saved a Scott Brown penalty but it still looks like Motherwell will be bumped to second as Celtic are cruising to a 2-0 win.
