From the eligibility thread:

In the star today , they mention that young Conor Delvin on Man utd (GK) is the next to switch from the North

Just setting up a thread for Devlin discussion as it appears he's on the verge of declaring for us and I can't find another dedicated to him.

Belfast-born Conor Devlin is an agile young goalkeeper who has played at youth international level for Northern Ireland.

A regular with Paul McGuinness' Under-18s during the 2008/09 season, the Northern Ireland youth international was also part of the Reserves' squad for the successful mid-season trip to the Torneo Calcio Memorial Claudio Sassi-Sassuolo in Italy.

Conor capped an impressive campaign's work by playing his part in Northern Ireland's successful campaign at the Milk Cup, and U18s boss McGuinness has been impressed with Devlin's time at the club.

“Conor is a good young goalkeeper,” he says. “We took Conor over to the Milk Cup tournament in Northern Ireland in July and he did very well for us.

“He’s an Irish youth international goalkeeper and he has impressed us so far. He reads the game well and he is ready to be part of the team and the back five.”

Devlin continued to play a major role in the U18s' Academy League success of 2009/10, turning in a string of impressive performances littered with stunning saves. With Ben Foster, Tom Heaton and Ron-Robert Zieler leaving the club during the summer of 2010, Conor looks to have a platform to showcase his unquestioned talent.

So that means we can look forward to having, not only, two young goalkeepers on Manchester United's books, but...to more entries in the 'Problem - eligibility' thread.

Happy days!

Don't see anything saying he's 'switching' though.

The main thing is he's not tempted into a competitive game....

Played for the NI's U 21s last night against the Faroe Islands. I doubt that he will join us therefore.

My point is one of allegiance to NI rather than one of not being able to play for us!

I know what your point was. Is there any indication anywhere of his allegiances outside of him playing for the provincial 21's?

Sorry BonnieShels! I have no idea what his intentions might be, but to have McDermott, Coll and him on board should mean we get one quality goalkeeper out of the three - hopefully more.

I suppose they have Blayney and Mannus! :) What would they need the rest for?

On trial at Hull

Skysports.com understands former Manchester United goalkeeper Conor Devlin could sign for Hull City after earning a trial at the Championship club.

Devlin: Undergoing trial at Hull City after United release
Teenager Devlin, who played for United's youth academy side, was released by the Premier League champions this summer.

The Belfast-born 19-year-old, who has represented Northern Ireland at Under-19 level, will hope to impress while on trial with the Tigers and earn a permanent deal.

With only regular keeper Mark Oxley currently on Hull's books, manager Nigel Pearson is keen to strengthen between the sticks ahead of the new season.

The club are also hoping to wrap up a season-long loan deal for Liverpool shot-stopper Peter Gulacsi.
